To leverage high VIP levels—such as VIP 18—during the Winter Storm event in Last War, focus your main force on high-value strategic nodes, place tank heroes in the front line, and use squad presets to quickly adapt to combat changes. High VIP tiers provide passive bonuses to research speed, resource production, troop capacity, and combat stats. However, holding points in competitive events requires precise unit pathing and strict squad management.

Winter Storm Squad Positioning and Deployment

High-power accounts serve as anchors and rally leaders during alliance events. Spreading your forces thin across minor map targets weakens your impact.

  • Pathing and Formation: Route your movement so tank heroes remain in front to absorb incoming damage. Place ranged heroes behind tanks and use map structures to protect them so they can deal continuous damage.
  • Objective Focus: Concentrate your strongest squad on primary strategic nodes. Let alliance allies assist with capturing secondary objectives.
  • Squad Presets: Configure preset hero rosters before entering the event. Use dedicated offensive presets when taking objectives and swap instantly to defensive presets when holding nodes under counterattack.

Squad Role Allocation

Squad TypePrimary ObjectiveHero & Gear FocusCombat Role
Main SquadSpearheading rallies & holding key nodesHighest-tier heroes, legendary gear, maxed skillsHeavy frontline engagement
Secondary SquadsScouting enemy movements & holding minor nodesUtility heroes, secondary gear setsMap control & support

Assign your best legendary gear and fully leveled skills to your primary squad. Use secondary squads to scout enemy routes or defend secondary capture points. This prevents your primary squad from wasting troop durability on low-value fights.

Troop Sustainability and Resource Control

High VIP status speeds up troop recovery, but continuous fights still drain your army.

  1. Monitor Soldier Count: Check healing speeds and reserve capacity frequently during heavy combat.
  2. Activate Buffs: Enable alliance technologies and temporary defense or attack buffs before engaging contested zones.
  3. Avoid Overextending: Hold key positions to maintain map control instead of chasing individual enemy units. Retreating to recover troops is faster than replacing an entirely wiped army.
