Build Hecarim around Trinity Force and Spear of Shojin in League of Legends: Wild Rift to convert bonus movement speed into attack damage and repeated Rampage (Skill 1) casts. Pair this item core with a Red Brambleback start, maintaining Rampage stacks between camps so you hit Level 4 before taking Scuttle Crab and looking for flank ganks with Devastating Charge (Skill 3).
Core Item Build
Hecarim relies on attack damage, ability haste, movement speed, and defensive stats that keep him alive after diving.
| Slot | Item | Role in Build |
|---|---|---|
| Core Damage | Trinity Force | Repeated Spellblade triggers from low-cooldown Rampage casts, burst damage, and movement speed. |
| Core Utility | Spear of Shojin | Ability haste, faster basic ability cooldowns in skirmishes, and combat movement speed. |
| Survivability | Sterak's Gage | Base attack damage scaling, tenacity, and a Lifeline shield against initial dive burst. |
| Physical Defense | Death's Dance | Delays incoming damage and restores health on takedowns against physical damage or assassins. |
| Magic Defense | Force of Nature | Magic damage mitigation and stacking movement speed that feeds Hecarim's passive damage. |
| Boots and Enchant | Plated Steelcaps or Mercury's Treads with Glorious or Stasis | Gap-closing speed from Glorious Enchant, or defensive stasis when diving carries heavy risk. |
Start with Trinity Force and Spear of Shojin. Because Rampage has a short cooldown, it triggers Trinity Force's Spellblade passive throughout extended fights, while Spear of Shojin reduces basic ability cooldowns further once combat begins. Add Sterak's Gage next to survive burst when engaging, then choose Death's Dance against sustained physical damage or Force of Nature against magic-heavy lineups.
Runes and Summoner Spells
Select runes and spells that match the enemy team's durability and maximize Hecarim's movement-speed scaling:
- Keystone (Phase Rush or Conqueror): Take Phase Rush against fragile carries to trigger a burst of movement speed and slow resistance after landing three separate attacks or abilities. Switch to Conqueror against tanky bruisers when fights turn into extended frontline trades.
- Offensive Runes (Triumph or Sudden Impact): Use Triumph to restore missing health on takedowns during multi-target skirmishes, or Sudden Impact to gain armor penetration after Devastating Charge's dash and knockback.
- Utility and Defense Runes (Pathfinder, Overgrowth, or Bone Plating): Take Pathfinder to move faster through the river between camps and lanes. Use Overgrowth or Bone Plating to reduce burst damage when diving.
- Summoner Spells (Smite and Ghost): Pair Smite with Ghost when you want to ignore unit collision, boost passive attack damage from movement speed, and chase targets down long lanes. Take Flash instead if you prefer instant repositioning.
Early Jungle Route and Rampage Stacking
Keeping Rampage (Skill 1) stacked between monster camps is the main requirement for a fast, mana-efficient first clear.
- Start at Red Brambleback for the burning on-hit slow and health regeneration.
- Cast Rampage on cooldown and step toward the next camp between swings. Drag low-health monsters toward your next target so you can hit the next camp before your Rampage stacks expire.
- Clear Raptors and Murk Wolves, activating Spirit of Dread (Skill 2) in multi-monster camps to heal while your area attacks hit the whole cluster.
- Continue to Blue Sentinel and Gromp along the standard sequence: Red Brambleback -> Raptors -> Wolves -> Blue Sentinel -> Gromp -> Scuttle Crab.
- Save Smite for high-health monsters such as Blue Sentinel (or the large Krug if you take Krugs) so you reach Level 4 before the river Scuttle Crab spawns.
- Secure Scuttle Crab to create a river speed shrine, then look for an immediate Level 4 or Level 5 gank.
Gank Execution and Teamfight Combos
Avoid running straight through lane vision or engaging head-on into five grouped enemies holding hard crowd control.
Lane Gank Sequence
- Activate Devastating Charge (Skill 3) early from river fog or lane brush so your movement speed builds before you reach the target.
- Path behind the enemy's escape route rather than colliding from the front, then hit them to knock them backward toward your allied laner and away from their turret.
- Activate Spirit of Dread (Skill 2) as soon as the collision lands to heal from damage dealt inside the aura.
- Weave a basic attack into an immediate Rampage (Skill 1) cast to trigger item passives, then stay on the target with Ghost or Phase Rush while repeating basic attacks and Rampage casts.
Teamfight Flank Engagement
Approach grouped fights from side lanes or flank brush rather than the front line. Pop Ghost and Devastating Charge first, then cast Onslaught of Shadows (Skill 4) over terrain onto the enemy backline so the spectral riders fear carries away from the impact point and split their formation. While the backline is feared, steer your remaining Devastating Charge knockback into the most vulnerable carry to push them toward your team, and keep Spirit of Dread active inside the cluster so damage dealt by you and your allies sustains you through the dive. Use won fights to take Dragon or Baron Nashor while the enemy team cannot contest.
