Playing Lulu effectively in League of Legends: Wild Rift centers on choosing between offensive disruption and ally enhancement. Because her core abilities change function depending on whether you target a teammate or an opponent, your positioning and spell allocation dictate how well your carries survive enemy burst damage.
Dual-Target Ability Mechanics
Lulu’s kit relies on managing her faerie companion, Pix, and selecting the correct target for each active ability during skirmishes.
| Ability | Ally Target Effect | Enemy Target Effect | Tactical Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skill 1: Glitterlance | N/A (Fires dual beams from Lulu and Pix) | Deals magic damage and inflicts a decaying slow | Angle beams to hit escaping enemies or clear waves |
| Skill 2: Whimsy | Grants bonus movement speed and attack speed | Polymorphs target, disabling attacks, spells, and active items while slowing | Hold for diving assassins; buff carries during secure DPS windows |
| Skill 3: Help, Pix! | Shields ally and attaches Pix to assist their basic attacks | Damages target, reveals vision in brush/stealth, and attaches Pix | Shield during incoming trades; tag enemies to extend spell range |
| Ultimate: Wild Growth | Grants bonus maximum health, knocks up nearby foes, and adds a slow aura | N/A (Knocks up enemies in radius around the targeted ally) | Counter burst executes and interrupt enemy dash channels |
Passive and Skill 1: Pix Positioning and Glitterlance
Pix automatically fires a volley of magical bolts whenever Lulu basic attacks. These bolts collide with the first unit they touch. When trading in the Dragon Lane, step outside the minion wave so Pix’s auxiliary damage hits opposing champions instead of front-line minions.
Glitterlance fires two piercing energy beams: one from Lulu's staff and one from Pix's current location. If Pix is following you, the beams converge forward. If Pix is attached to another unit via Help, Pix!, the secondary beam originates from that host unit. You can attach Pix to a forward ally or an enemy minion to cast Glitterlance far beyond your normal attack range.
Skill 2: Whimsy Target Priority
Whimsy forces an immediate trade-off between engage support and backline safety:
- Offensive ally cast: Grants movement and attack speed to hypercarries during sustained damage windows, helping them kite and chase.
- Defensive enemy cast: Polymorphs an approaching diver into a harmless creature, preventing them from casting abilities, basic attacking, or activating item enchants.
Do not use Whimsy on tanky front-line champions who are already crowd-controlled. Save polymorph for diving burst threats to nullify their attack rotation. Casting Whimsy for a speed boost leaves your backline without an instant interruption tool until the cooldown resets.
Skill 3: Help, Pix! Shielding and Vision
Help, Pix! dictates where Pix is stationed:
- On allies: Provides a damage shield and transfers Pix to that ally, causing Pix’s bolt barrage to trigger on the ally's basic attacks.
- On enemies: Deals damage, grants true vision through fog of war or brush, and anchors Pix to the target, creating an unavoidable angle for a follow-up Glitterlance slow.
Default to shielding your carry during trades to mitigate incoming burst and increase their trade damage. Use enemy casts primarily to track targets fleeing into unwarded brush.
Ultimate: Wild Growth Execution
Wild Growth provides immediate bonus health to an ally, knocks up all surrounding enemies, and emits a lingering slow aura. Because the ability increases maximum health rather than applying standard healing, it ignores the healing reduction of Grievous Wounds.
You can use Wild Growth offensively by targeting an allied vanguard who dives into the enemy formation, chaining crowd control on grouped enemies. Alternatively, hold it defensively to interrupt enemy dashes and knock divers away from your marksman.
Teamfight Peel Rotation
In teamfights, stay anchored next to your primary carry instead of moving forward to poke. Lulu has low base durability and cannot survive focused burst. When an enemy dives your backline, execute this ability sequence:
- Cast Whimsy on the diving enemy: Polymorph immediately interrupts their burst combo and locks out active items.
- Cast Help, Pix! on your carry: Absorb incoming burst damage with the shield and grant Pix’s attack support to your carry's retaliatory strikes.
- Cast Wild Growth on your carry: Trigger the knockup as the gap closes completely, overriding burst damage with bonus health and slowing the attacker.
- Cast Glitterlance toward the threat: Apply a heavy slow to prevent the enemy from continuing pursuit, enabling your carry to kite backward safely.
If the enemy team relies on long-range poke rather than dive assassins, adjust your rotation: attach Pix to your frontline with Help, Pix!, slow approaching opponents with forward Glitterlance angles, and use Whimsy on your carry to accelerate their damage against the enemy frontline.

Good guide for League of Legends: Wild Rift players. The strategy part was useful.
The explanation is clear, especially for beginners.
This saved me time in the early game.
Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
