To progress through the early stages of Legend of Mushroom, continuously rub the Magic Lamp to cycle gear, sell unwanted drops to earn Gold and character EXP, and immediately reinvest that Gold into Lamp upgrades. Early power does not come from farming stage mobs directly; it comes from raising your Lamp level to unlock higher-tier equipment while using chapter quests to unlock skills, Pals, and your first class promotion.

Upgrading the Magic Lamp

The Magic Lamp generates all equipment in Legend of Mushroom. At low levels, the lamp drops predominantly Common and Fine gear. Upgrading the lamp shifts its drop rates toward Rare and Epic equipment, providing the Combat Power (CP) needed to clear boss timers.

Each lamp upgrade requires Gold and a research countdown. Start upgrades the moment you meet the Gold requirement. You can continue rubbing the lamp while an upgrade is researching, allowing you to cycle gear and gain EXP without waiting for the timer to finish.

Selling Equipment for Character EXP

Selling unwanted gear is your primary method for leveling up your Shroomie. Mob kills do not provide the bulk of your character experience, so hoarding equipment slows down account progression.

When the lamp produces a gear piece, check its stat comparison:

  1. Equip the item if its core attributes—Attack, Defense, and HP—exceed your currently equipped piece.
  2. Sell the replaced item immediately.
  3. Sell any newly rolled item on the spot if its stats are inferior.

Keeping outdated gear in your bag provides no passive stats or set bonuses. Liquidating excess equipment converts duplicate rolls directly into the EXP needed to hit level milestones and the Gold needed for lamp upgrades.

Unlocking Skills and Pals

Equipping active skills and Pal companions provides the offensive burst and utility required to defeat stage bosses before their enrage timers trigger.

  • Active Skills: Auto-cast abilities deal direct damage, provide defensive shields, or apply crowd control. Spend free summon coupons and earned Diamonds to pull skills early. Duplicate skill pulls automatically level up existing abilities to increase their damage scaling.
  • Pals: Companions fight alongside your character and grant passive multipliers, including increased attack speed, critical strike chance, or health sustain. Equip Pals that complement your primary damage style.
  • Slot Capacity: Progressing through adventure stages and account levels unlocks additional skill and companion slots. Equip newly opened slots immediately to maximize CP.

Choosing an Early Class Evolution

Reaching early character level milestones allows your basic Shroomie to evolve into one of three distinct classes. Your choice determines which secondary stats you should keep on higher-tier equipment:

  • Warrior: Focuses on Defense, counterattacks, and survivability. Prioritize defensive secondary stats if incoming boss damage is defeating you.
  • Archer: Focuses on Attack Speed, Combo, and Critical Strike chance. Prioritize offensive substats to maximize burst damage before stage timers expire.
  • Mage: Focuses on active skill damage, skill critical rate, and crowd control effects such as stuns. Prioritize skill-scaling substats to disable bosses.

Once your class is chosen, look beyond raw CP numbers. A piece of gear with slightly lower base stats may outperform higher-CP gear if its secondary attributes match your class mechanics.

Clearing Early Boss Roadblocks

Early stage progression runs linearly through numbered chapters. If you encounter a boss wall due to an enrage timer, do not waste attempts repeatedly challenging the same fight.

Instead, follow the Main Quest objectives displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen. These tasks reward large amounts of Diamonds, Gold, and bonus lamp uses for completing basic goals such as rubbing the lamp or reaching milestone levels. Use those rewards to upgrade your Lamp, acquire higher-tier gear, and level up your skills before re-challenging the boss encounter.
