To clear the Mining Tunnels in Legend of the Skyfish 2, use your combat fishing pole to pull switches across pits, latch onto anchor posts across broken rails, and isolate shielded cavern enemies. Upgraded slash damage from the hub forge will help you quickly take down subterranean monsters in narrow mine corridors.

Grappling Across Mine Chasms

The Mining Tunnels funnel you across narrow stone bridges and broken tracks suspended over bottomless drops. You cannot walk across collapsed rail lines, making your fishing rod your primary mobility tool.

  • Align casts carefully: Turn to face anchor posts directly before casting. Clipping a ledge or obstacle interrupts your pull and leaves you vulnerable to enemy attacks.
  • Reposition when crowded: If tunnel foes pin you against a wall, target an anchor post on an adjacent platform to pull yourself out of danger and reset the encounter.

The tunnels contain recurring mechanical traps that block narrow paths. Rushing through them will drain your health quickly.

  • Floor Spikes: Track the retraction rhythm and cross only after the spikes drop into the floor. Avoid casting your line while standing on an inactive grate, as the casting animation lock can keep you in place when the spikes pop up.
  • Rolling Boulders: Duck into recessed wall alcoves to let rocks pass. Break pots or containers inside an alcove immediately so you have room to retreat.
  • Rail Hazards: For corridors guarded by projectile traps or automated carts, use sword dashes and rolls to cross between firing intervals. Clear nearby crawling monsters before entering the firing lane so you do not take overlapping hits.

Solving Remote Switches and Pressure Gates

Progression in the mine shafts relies on bypassing locked gates and dropped drawbridges using your fishing line.

  1. Activate Distant Switches: Levers and crystal switches are often placed across pits or behind iron bars. Cast your hook directly at the switch to flip it and lower barriers.
  2. Move Pressure Weights: When a room requires a weight on a floor plate, look for loose stone blocks or statues. Cast your line at the object to pull it onto the pressure plate.
  3. Bypass Timed Doors: If a gate shuts shortly after you step off a switch, check nearby walls or ceilings for grappling posts. Step on the pad, face the anchor, and hook across before the door seals shut.

Underground Enemy Counters

Tight tunnel passages limit your dodging space. Prioritize eliminating ranged attackers first, then handle armored targets.

Finding Hidden Chests

Optional caches throughout the Mining Tunnels contain upgrade currency and crafting materials. Look for cracked rock walls along the perimeter of the main tracks; striking them with heavy attacks or detonating nearby explosive barrels opens hidden side rooms. If a treasure chest sits on an isolated ledge with no direct walking path, scan the ceiling edges for wooden pegs to hook across diagonally.
