To grow a giant Blob into a late-game hyper-carry in Lucky Defense!, anchor it along the central path, secure your baseline economy and crowd control first, and feed it only surplus or duplicate units starting after wave 20. Sacrificing units too early or stripping your board of crowd control will cause fast runner waves to leak, ending the run.

How Blob Absorption Works

Blob scales by consuming friendly units on the board. Each consumed unit permanently increases Blob's visual footprint and stacks its base attack damage for the rest of the match.

Because Blob gains raw damage directly from eaten units, it functions as a stat sponge rather than relying exclusively on Lucky Stone upgrades. However, every absorbed unit permanently removes spent summon energy, board presence, and active passive skills. If you consume units indiscriminately, you risk wiping out your lane defenses.

Blob feeding should adhere to strict material priorities:

  • Primary Fuel: Unneeded common summons, duplicate rares, and unmerged board clutter.
  • Protected Units: Core economy engines, critical crowd controllers, and recipe materials reserved for essential Mythic units.

Board Positioning and Zone Setup

Place Blob in the central lane intersection. This placement allows its expanding strike area to cover both incoming paths while keeping outer tiles open for non-sacrificial support units.

An oversized Blob visually obscures adjacent tiles, which can lead to accidental sacrifices during rapid summoning. Establishing designated board zones prevents feeding errors:

Board ZoneTarget PlacementStrategic Purpose
Central LaneBlobCovers both mob routes with expanding attack reach
Outer PerimeterKitty Mage, Shock Robot, ColdyProtects mana generators and stunners from absorption
Buffer TilesDisposable Commons and RaresPlaces fodder directly next to Blob for controlled feeding
Corner TilesEconomy GeneratorsSafely generates coins and summon currency

Feeding Timeline Across Match Waves

Do not feed Blob during the opening rounds. Base attack scaling cannot make up for lost unit volume when your board lacks overall stability.

  1. Waves 1–20: Build coin interest, clear opening quests, and place baseline stun units. Do not summon or feed Blob during this phase.
  2. Waves 21–40: Summon Blob and place it in the center. Feed only unwanted duplicate common summons while keeping your primary line stable.
  3. Waves 41–60: Use the excess summon volume generated by your stabilized economy to accelerate feeding, targeting maximum size ahead of late boss encounters.
  4. Waves 61–80: Stop all feeding. Keep your final board layout intact, protect your active crowd control, and direct remaining currency into direct damage upgrades.

Essential Support Units

Blob supplies heavy raw damage and cleave, but it lacks natural crowd control, attack speed buffs, and defense reduction. It requires specific Mythics to perform effectively:

  • Kitty Mage: Provides essential mana regeneration so Blob and auxiliary units cycle their active skills regularly.
  • Shock Robot and Coldy: Provide dedicated stuns along the perimeter to halt runner mobs during Blob's attack recovery intervals.
  • Physical Defense Reduction: Units that strip armor allow Blob's high raw attack values to scale against late-game armored bosses.

Common Feeding Mistakes to Avoid

  • Over-Sacrificing Early: Emptying your board to enlarge Blob before wave 20 strips away your overall attack volume, causing early wave leaks.
  • Consuming Mythic Ingredients: Feeding rare or epic units that are required to summon Kitty Mage or your stun anchors weakens utility and can stall your defense.
  • Ignoring Clear Speed: If enemy waves cross past the mid-track marker, immediately stop feeding Blob. Use your open board space to summon stun utility and stabilize the lane before resuming growth.
