To beat Level 1127 in Magic Sort!, immediately create one fully empty bottle to serve as an active buffer, transfer top layers to reveal buried colors, and avoid depositing mismatched liquid units into your open space. Level 1127 features tightly interlocked color segments where a single premature transfer can freeze the board.

Freeing the First Buffer Bottle

Each bottle holds up to four liquid units. Liquids can only pour onto an identical color layer or into a completely vacant container.

At the start of Level 1127, your move options are restricted. To establish room to maneuver:

  1. Scan the board for the bottle with the shallowest color split, particularly one holding two matching top segments.
  2. Pour those exposed top segments onto matching colors in other tubes.
  3. Pour off any remaining secondary colors until that single starting bottle is completely empty.

Do not place two different single-unit colors into this newly opened container. Splitting your first empty bottle eliminates your only transfer lane and causes early deadlocks.

Color Routing Priorities

Prioritize moves that reveal buried colors over lateral transfers that simply shuffle top units. Shuffling liquid between partial stacks without exposing lower layers exhausts headroom without creating progress.

Evaluate available transfers using this priority order:

Move TypeBoard ImpactPriorityStrategic Purpose
Layer UnmaskingReveals a lower unit beneath a single top layerHighUnlocks buried colors needed to complete stacks elsewhere.
Direct ConsolidationMerges 2–3 matching units into a nearly full bottleHighFrees space across the board and completes color sets.
Buffer ParkingTemporarily moves a blocking unit to an empty tubeMediumUseful only if it immediately frees the layer underneath for a valid pour.
Lateral ShufflingMoves a top unit to another bottle without uncovering new colorsLowClogs available capacity without creating board openings.

When multiple transfers are open, choose the move that exposes a color that already has matching segments waiting on top of other tubes. This creates a chain reaction of valid pours.

Managing the Buffer with Pass-Through Transfers

An empty bottle must function as a dynamic transfer junction rather than permanent storage. Depositing an isolated segment into an empty tube without an immediate follow-up turns that buffer into another dead column.

Use the pass-through method when clearing blocking top layers:

  • Transfer an obstructive top unit into the empty buffer only if you can immediately route the underlying layer to its matching stack.
  • Once that lower layer is moved, check whether the unit in the buffer can now pour onto a newly exposed matching layer.
  • If the parked unit cannot move immediately, leave the remaining capacity of that buffer container empty so it can still accept incoming transfers.

Completing Four-Unit Stacks

Consolidate matching colors into full four-unit stacks as early as possible. Once a bottle holds four identical units, that color is permanently resolved and removed from the active puzzle pool.

Avoid building multiple partial stacks of three units across different bottles. Stacks of three units capped with a single mismatched color prevent clean transfers on both colors. When two bottles hold identical partial layers, merge them into a finished four-unit bottle immediately, even if doing so requires parking an obstructive top layer in your buffer temporarily.

Recovering from a Board Freeze

If no top colors match available surfaces and no empty bottles remain, the board has locked. This almost always occurs when an empty bottle is filled with an isolated color segment that has no accessible match.

To recover using the undo feature:

  1. Locate the isolated color segment currently blocking your buffer bottle.
  2. Identify which tube that segment came from and check whether moving it exposed a usable color.
  3. If the uncovered layer could not immediately transfer to a matching destination, undo back to the point before that transfer.
  4. Select an alternate branch where clearing layers directly consolidates matching colors without occupying your final empty container.
