To clear levels 2021 through 2030 in Magic Sort!, you must uncover buried color layers, create fully empty buffer tubes early, and consolidate matching liquids into dedicated bottles. These late-game stages feature four-unit tubes packed with six to eight competing colors. Every move must either uncover a blocked color or empty a container completely.
Create and Protect Empty Buffer Tubes
Sacrificing buffer tubes too early causes most puzzle failures in this bracket. Most stages provide only one or two empty tubes at the start. Filling them with single, random layers quickly leaves you without open moves.
To generate a stable buffer:
- Find the fastest tube to empty. Scan for bottles with three matching units topped by a single odd color, or tubes whose top color can pour immediately onto an existing stack elsewhere.
- Pour off the top layer. Transfer the surface liquid to uncover the solid segment beneath it.
- Relocate the remaining stack. Move the exposed uniform stack into a matching bottle or reserve it to clear the donor tube entirely.
- Treat the empty tube as a transit corridor. Do not use a bare tube for long-term storage. Only place liquid into an empty tube if you can clear it again within two to three moves or if that bottle is your permanent consolidation destination.
Read Layers from Base to Top
Before tapping your first tube, check the bottom layer of every bottle across the board. Late-game stages lock base colors beneath three distinct single-unit segments.
| Tube Tier | Priority | Core Action |
|---|---|---|
| Top (Tier 1) | Immediate | Pour to uncover underlying layers or combine matching surface units. |
| Middle (Tiers 2–3) | Secondary | Calculate the pours required to expose these layers before committing buffers. |
| Base (Tier 4) | Foundation | Identify matching base colors to determine your permanent completion tubes. |
When planning moves, trace the sequence in reverse. If uncovering a red base in tube three requires moving a yellow segment to tube five, ensure tube five has enough headroom to receive it without sealing off an active color underneath. If a transfer solves one tube but locks another critical chain, abandon that route.
Maintain Stack Capacity and Avoid Traps
Spreading a single color across multiple bottles in partial two-unit stacks limits your board capacity. When you pour matching liquid, Magic Sort! transfers all connected units of that color in one action, provided the destination tube has enough room. Storing partial stacks across several tubes eliminates the empty capacity needed for multi-unit transfers.
Watch out for false-progress moves. Shifting a top layer onto a matching color may look productive, but if the receiving tube fills to three units while the donor tube still holds two mismatched layers below, both tubes become locked. Only commit to a transfer if it completely empties the donor bottle or uncovers a color that can move immediately.
Clear Mid-Bracket Bottlenecks (Levels 2025–2028)
Levels 2025 through 2028 present higher color diversity and fewer uniform starting blocks, often leaving no direct surface matches.
- Execute circular transfers. When all visible tops are mismatched, place one color into an empty buffer tube, move a newly exposed second color onto its match, transfer a third color into the space just opened, and return the first color to its proper stack. This advances the board state by one layer and restores your empty buffer.
- Leave single-unit fragments alone. Do not waste buffer space collecting isolated, single-unit colors during the opening sequence. Focus on reducing dominant four-unit blocks first. Once major colors clear and open board space expands, sweeping up single-unit fragments becomes straightforward.
Prevent End-Game Symmetrical Locks
As you finish bottles and lock them out of play, your usable board space contracts. A common failure in the final stage occurs when two remaining bottles each hold equal parts of two opposing colors—such as two units of purple and two units of orange in both containers. Without an open buffer tube, this symmetry creates an immediate deadlock.
Prevent this by staggering transfer heights. Keep one bottle at three units and another at one unit rather than balancing both at two units. This height difference guarantees you can pour the single unit off, resolve the three-unit stack, and cascade the final colors to clear the stage.

Can you add more details about early game in a future update?
This guide answered the exact question I had.
Good guide for Magic Sort! players. The early game part was useful.
This helped me understand early game much better.
