To clear levels 591 through 600 in Magic Sort!, keep at least one bottle completely empty at all times while systematically consolidating single colors into dedicated anchor bottles.
Managing Open Container Space
Filling every container on the board with mixed stacks removes your working space and forces a level restart. Keeping an empty bottle provides a safety buffer, allowing you to peel off top-layer colors without locking the layout.
- Maintain a safety buffer: Always leave one bottle clear so you can shift top layers freely.
- Avoid temporary holds: Do not move a color to a bottle unless you can complete that set or free the container within two moves.
- Target abundant colors: Identify the color appearing most frequently across the board and dedicate your first clear bottle to holding only that hue.
Uncovering Base Layer Colors
Puzzles in the 590s frequently hide essential base colors under multiple upper layers. To reach bottom layers without trapping your workspace, peel back upper colors in order:
- Move top layers: Shift the exposed top layer into a matching stack or temporary empty bottle.
- Expose lower layers: Transfer secondary colors out of the container to open a direct path to the bottom layer.
- Consolidate to anchor bottles: Transfer the exposed base color directly into your dedicated single-color bottle.
Resolving Dependency Loops and Gridlock
A dependency loop occurs when moving one color requires an open destination that is currently blocked by a second color. If every move creates a mixed stack:
- Find mobile colors: Look for top-layer colors that can transfer to an existing matching stack without using up an empty container.
- Reverse blocked paths: Reverse recent moves using the undo function if a sequence leaves all containers filled with incomplete, mixed colors. Reorganizing the board early prevents total gridlock as container layouts become tighter approaching level 600.

I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
This helped me understand base building much better.
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
Nice guide. I am checking the other Magic Sort! articles next.
