To solve levels 811 through 820 in Magic Sort!, keep at least one container entirely empty as a temporary buffer and focus on completely filling single-color bottles one at a time. The denser liquid arrangements in these mid-game stages punish reactive pouring, so managing open space is essential to prevent deadlocks.
Early Stage Strategy: Levels 811–815
In levels 811 to 815, water colors are spread thinly across multiple containers. Prevent deadlocks by enforcing three core handling rules:
- Consolidate Primary Colors: Spot the liquid shade appearing most frequently across top layers and move it into one dedicated bottle until filled.
- Protect the Working Buffer: Always keep at least one bottle completely empty. Use this open space strictly to shift blocking colors, never to store mixed liquids permanently.
- Avoid Color Stacking: Do not pour a secondary color onto a different base liquid unless you can immediately clear that top shade on your next turn.
Deep-Layer Pouring: Levels 816–818
Levels 816 through 818 introduce deeper color stacks that hide vital base liquids beneath multiple top layers. Clear these stages by sequencing pours to reach bottom colors:
- Examine the Base Liquids: Look at the bottom layer of every bottle to identify where matching colors are trapped.
- Clear Top Bottlenecks: Shift the top one or two liquid layers into your buffer bottle or existing matching stacks to expose the target base color.
- Execute the Base Transfer: Move the exposed base color into a consolidated single-color bottle. Clearing a base liquid frees up space across multiple columns.
If a bottleneck forces you to place a color into a partially filled bottle of a different shade, treat it as a temporary compromise. Resolving a full bottle takes priority over keeping the rest of the board clean.
Late Stage Execution: Levels 819–820
The final stages, 819 and 820, feature fragmented liquids that lead to frequent move traps.
- Trace Moves Ahead: Because Magic Sort! has no turn timer, outline three moves ahead before committing to a pour to ensure you do not trap a single color layer beneath an unmovable stack.
- Respect Movement Rules: Water movement follows a last-in, first-out sequence. Covering a needed liquid layer creates an unreachable slot that will require an undo or level restart.
- Target Unique Bottom Shades: If a bottle has a unique color at its base, concentrate early moves entirely on stripping away its upper layers.
