To beat Level 1204 in Match Factory!, clear surface target items immediately to uncover buried objectives, and keep at least three open slots in your holding tray at all times. Avoid pulling non-objective clutter into the tray unless removing those pieces directly exposes a required target.

Opening Assessment and Target Priority

Level 1204 features a deep, dense pile containing required target items mixed with blocking clutter. Check the objective counter at the top of the screen before tapping. Take three to five seconds to scan the surface layer for accessible triples or pairs of target items.

Focus on clearing the pile in a top-down hierarchy:

Object TypePile PositionRequired Action
Surface ObjectivesResting on top of the pileTap immediately to clear early objectives and create room.
Blocking ClutterCovering lower layersClear only when all three matching pieces are visible and uncover targets.
Buried ObjectivesTrapped under large objectsRemove the specific items resting directly on top of them.

Never grab loose filler items simply because they are visible. Match non-target objects only when they physically trap a cluster of required pieces. When clearing clutter to access an objective, ensure all three matching pieces are in plain view before placing any into your tray.

Tray Capacity Management

The holding tray has seven slots. Overfilling the tray eliminates your margin for error and can abruptly end a run.

  • Maintain a three-slot cushion: Keep at least three slots empty during the mid-game. Carrying four or five unmatched pieces leaves no room to maneuver around shifting items.
  • Locate the third piece before tapping: If two matching targets sit on the surface, confirm the location of the third piece before transferring the first two to the tray.
  • Resolve accidental grabs immediately: If you misclick and draw an unintended piece, check for two matching items on the board. Clear them out right away to reclaim the slot. If matching items are not visible, halt all new grabs and focus exclusively on completing pairs already occupying tray slots.

Managing 3D Pile Physics

Removing items causes the remaining pile to shift, slide, and settle into open gaps. You can use these collapses deliberately to expose hidden targets.

  • Clear center items to spread the pile: Removing bulky items from the center causes the pile to collapse outward toward the edges of the board. A flatter, wider spread makes individual items easier to identify than a tall central stack.
  • Wait for items to stop rolling: Do not rapidly tap shifting pieces. Moving objects can cause tap registration errors, pulling the wrong object into your tray. Pause briefly to let the physics simulation settle before selecting your third target.

When to Use Boosters

If your clearing pace lags behind the timer, deploy boosters to prevent a timeout:

  • Vacuum: Use when required target items are scattered widely across the board and manual collection would consume too much time.
  • Spring or Broom: Use when the pile settles into an unrecognizable heap where required objects cannot be visually distinguished.
  • Freeze: Trigger when the timer drops below 25 seconds and multiple objective sets remain on the board.

Clear stray items from your tray before activating a booster so incoming pieces do not cause an accidental overflow.
