Grid Interaction and Visual Feedback

Interacting with the 9x9 board requires clean input choices to avoid accidental placements. Meowdoku! supports two primary ways to enter numbers on the board:

1. Cell-First Entry: Tap an empty cell on the grid, then select your target number from the bottom keypad.
2. Number-First Entry: Tap a digit on the bottom keypad first, then tap your target cell. If you frequently make mis-taps, use this order to visually confirm your digit selection before confirming its position.

Whenever you select a cell on the grid, the interface highlights three structural areas:

• Row: The horizontal line containing the selected cell.
• Column: The vertical line containing the selected cell.
• Block: The 3x3 region containing the selected cell.

Before finalizing any number entry, scan these highlighted areas to ensure the digit does not already exist within the same row, column, or block.

Using Note Modes and Clearing Candidates

When a cell has multiple valid choices, use note-taking instead of placing permanent entries. Toggling note mode allows you to insert small candidate numbers into a cell without locking in a answer.

Note Maintenance Rules

• Clear Solved Cells: When you confirm a permanent digit in a cell, immediately erase that number from candidate notes in the surrounding row, column, and block.
• Wipe Cluttered Grids: If legacy notes obscure your view of remaining open cells, use the clear function to remove non-essential marks and re-evaluate open spots fresh.
• Use Undo for Mis-taps: If you accidentally place a permanent digit while note mode is off, tap Undo immediately to prevent corrupting downstream logic steps.

Navigating Menus and Auto-Save Progress

The level selection menu organizes puzzles by difficulty tier, displaying completion indicators for finished boards.

If you get stuck on a puzzle's logic chain:

1. Tap the Settings/Menu button on the bottom bar.
2. Exit to the main menu.
3. Return to the level at a later time.
