To survive enemy waves in Mochi Burst, keep your character moving continuously along the outer edges of enemy clusters while firing at targets immediately threatening your hitbox. Standing still or retreating into stage corners allows spawning mobs to surround you.

Target Selection and Threat Priority

When large waves spawn in Mochi Burst, prioritize targets based on proximity to your character rather than total enemy health.

  • Immediate Hitbox Threats: Eliminate enemies closest to your character first. Clearing nearby units prevents chip damage and opens escape lanes when swarms tighten.
  • Perimeter Strafing: Move in wide circular paths around mob groups. Circular movement forces enemies to clump into tight clusters, increasing the hit efficiency of your projectile attacks across multiple targets.
  • Flanking Units: Watch for enemies moving outside the main horde. Neutralize flanking units early so they do not block your escape route.

Arena Navigation and Kiting Strategy

Mochi Burst limits combat to enclosed arena maps. Managing your play area effectively prevents your character from getting pinned against boundaries.

  1. Maintain Distance: Use continuous kiting—firing short projectile bursts while moving—to maintain a medium-range gap from approaching mobs.
  2. Avoid Corners: Steer clear of map edges and corners where your mobility is restricted.
  3. Punch Openings: If an enemy wave blocks your path, concentrate your attacks on a single spot in the line to carve out a gap before passing through.
  4. Reposition During Lulls: Use brief pauses between spawn waves to head back toward open space rather than staying trapped near the outer boundaries.
