To build an effective Reaver in Mythic Survivors, stack critical strike modifiers and melee damage on your gear while unlocking talents that grant life recovery on hit and expand your cleave radius. Because the Reaver relies on dealing close-quarters damage to trigger sustain, surviving dense enemy waves requires staying on the offensive and grouping targets rather than retreating.

Equipment Stat Priorities

Prioritize upgrading your weapon and accessories first. These slots carry the critical strike and lifesteal rolls necessary to keep your health filled during combat. Defensive armor and health on your chest piece prevent you from being burst down by elite packs, but your weapon's damage output powers your survival.

When tuning stats, prioritize attack speed over excessive defensive health, provided your attack animations do not lock your character's movement. Faster swings trigger life recovery and critical hits more frequently.

Talent Tree Progression

Allocate permanent talent points to build a stable health and recovery foundation before investing in utility.

  1. Early Nodes: Place initial points into flat attack power and base health. Unlock early life-recovery nodes immediately, which restore health per kill or per critical strike. This reduces reliance on random healing drops. Postpone utility and coin-drop talents until combat survival is consistent.
  2. Mid-to-Late Milestones: Transition into critical strike amplification, cooldown acceleration, and swing arc expansion. Broadening your attack radius allows your swings to hit backline ranged units.
  3. Endgame Nodes: Finish by investing in percentage damage bonuses against boss and elite targets to speed up late-chapter boss fights.

In-Run Skill and Tome Priorities

During a chapter run, assemble a kit that maximizes broad sweep coverage while maintaining defenses against projectile swarms.

  • Primary Slashing Skills: Prioritize upgrades that boost swing frequency, widen attack cones, and apply bleed effects. Bleed damage continues to tick on bosses while you maneuver around floor hazards.
  • Orbital and Barrier Skills: Choose secondary skills that generate rotating blades, shields, or energy auras. These protect against projectile clusters and chip away at surrounding mobs.
  • Passive Stat Tomes: Select Tomes offering Critical Strike Rate, Attack Range, Movement Speed, and Cooldown Reduction. High movement speed is required to dodge heavy boss strikes without losing melee uptime.

Always evolve your primary slashing weapon before spreading upgrades across multiple secondary skills. An evolved weapon provides the damage threshold required to cut through thick wave formations.

Farming and Movement Strategy

Standing still in high-difficulty chapters will cause overlapping mob attacks to outpace your lifesteal. To farm stages efficiently with minimal death risk, use the following movement patterns:

  • Elliptical Kiting: Circle around the outer edge of incoming swarms to funnel enemies into a condensed column behind you.
  • Front-Rank Cutting: Once the wave clusters tightly, turn sharply into the front line to unleash your burst attacks, then resume moving along the edge to avoid being encircled.
  • Boss Flanking: Stay positioned behind or to the side of stage bosses. Most boss encounters feature wide frontal cone attacks, but their slow turning speeds allow an agile Reaver to circle continuously while attacking.
