To clear Gauntlet Mode in Ninja Turtles: Legends, prioritize health preservation and cooldown management over pure damage. Because damage and status effects persist between consecutive encounters, rushing for quick eliminations depletes your team's health pool and leaves high-impact abilities unavailable for incoming waves.
Gauntlet Team Composition
A viable five-member Gauntlet squad balances survivability, control, and wave clearing. Glass-cannon lineups fail because chip damage accumulates across multiple battles. Leonardo provides a reliable anchor due to his mix of single-target control, defense, and utility.
| Role | Primary Function | Key Skill Archetypes |
|---|---|---|
| Dedicated Healer | Restores team HP before each stage transition | Flat burst healing, Heal-over-Time, Defense Up |
| Primary Tank | Absorbs single-target burst from vulnerable allies | Taunt, Self-Defense Buff, Counter-attack |
| Crowd Controller | Locks down dangerous targets before they act | Stun, Turn Meter manipulation, Attack Down |
| Wave Clearer | Eliminates clustered enemy minions | Multi-target Area of Effect (AoE) attacks |
| Support | Dispels debuffs and manipulates turn order | Buff cleanse, Speed boost, Focus fire assist |
When selecting a healer, prioritize characters with abilities that restore flat percentages of health over conditional heals. If your main support falls during a stage, swap in a backup support immediately before entering the next encounter.
Cooldown Cycling and Wave Sequence
Skill cooldowns carry over between battles. Defeating the final enemy of a wave with a high-tier damage skill leaves your squad defenseless when facing a fresh group of enemies in the next room. Follow this three-step sequence during each encounter:
- Wave Opening: Cast taunts and defense buffs first. Follow with stuns or turn-manipulation abilities on elite damage dealers, then cast AoE attacks to soften the wave.
- Mid-Wave: Eliminate secondary threats using basic attacks to conserve active cooldowns.
- Wave Closing: When only one low-damage enemy remains, stall. Do not use high-damage skills. Use basic attacks to progress turns until your crowd control and burst abilities recharge. Cast your team heal just before delivering the final blow so your squad enters the next room at full health.
Target Priority
Certain enemy abilities can permanently compromise your run if not addressed immediately. Prioritize enemies in this order:
- Heal Block and Stun Casters: Enemies that inflict Heal Block prevent your support units from restoring lost HP, turning minor hits into permanent damage. Direct your primary stuns and single-target attacks at them first.
- Defense Debuffers and Snipers: Kraang shock units and backline snipers deal heavy burst damage that can quickly eliminate a low-health ally.
- Melee Bruisers and Shield Tanks: Neutralize these units last. Use your tank's taunt to redirect their attacks while your damage dealers dismantle the higher-priority threats.
Backup Roster Management
Unlucky critical hits or focus fire can eliminate a primary character during later stages. Avoid pouring all leveling resources into a single starting five.
Maintain at least two reserve tanks and one alternate healer at a comparable progression tier. If your frontline tank takes severe damage in an early battle, sub in a backup tank for the next room to absorb opening attacks. This preserves your primary team's health for the final, higher-difficulty encounters.
