To beat the timed 2-day Mighty Mutanimals event in Ninja Turtles: Legends, focus your attacks on backline support units before hitting frontline tanks. Bring a hero who can dispel buffs to remove Slash's taunts and shields, lock down Leatherhead with crowd control, and hold your major ability cooldowns during early waves so they are ready for the final encounter.

Target Priority Across Mutanimal Waves

Mutanimal teams rely on overlapping defenses, sustain, and counter-attacks. Attacking frontline tanks first allows enemy supports to buff their team and heal through your damage. Use single-target burst abilities to eliminate backline utility units first.

Handling Rockwell and Pete

Dr. Tyler Rockwell poses the highest offensive danger. Rockwell applies stuns and team-wide attack power buffs that allow opposing brawlers to knock out your squishier characters quickly. Pigeon Pete provides enemy sustain through healing, evasion, and speed buffs. Take out Rockwell first, then immediately shift single-target burst damage to Pete to eliminate the enemy squad's sustain.

Controlling Leatherhead and Slash

Leatherhead deals heavy area-of-effect damage, inflicts bleed debuffs, and counters attacks. Keep Leatherhead locked down using stuns, freezes, or turn-meter reductions while your damage dealers clear the backline.

Slash serves as a damage sponge with high armor, self-shields, and an active taunt designed to draw attacks away from Rockwell and Pete. Do not waste primary damage abilities on Slash while his defenses are active. Use a dispel to strip his taunt so your squad can continue targeting the backline.

A successful squad for this event requires crowd control and utility rather than pure damage:

  • Buff Dispeller: Essential for stripping Slash's taunt, armor buffs, or damage immunity so your damage dealers can reach high-priority backline targets.
  • Crowd Controller: A unit capable of reliable stuns, freezes, or turn-meter drain to keep Leatherhead from triggering lethal area attacks and counter-attacks.
  • Single-Target Burst Attacker: A heavy damage dealer to quickly eliminate Rockwell and Pete before their support abilities loop.
  • Frontline Tank: A durable character with taunt or self-shielding to absorb physical hits from enemy brawlers.
  • Dedicated Healer: A sustain hero to recover health lost to accumulated bleed debuffs and splash damage across multiple waves.

Wave Management and Ability Timing

Most event nodes feature two preliminary minion waves before the final Mutanimal wave. Mismanaging cooldowns on the preliminary waves leaves your team vulnerable at the start of the boss round.

  1. Clear Early Threats in Waves 1 and 2: Use initial area-of-effect abilities to remove weak minions quickly.
  2. Recharge Cooldowns: Once an early wave is reduced to a single, low-threat minion, switch to basic attacks. Stalling the end of the wave gives your primary skills time to reset and allows your healer to top off team health.
  3. Open the Boss Wave with Utility: When entering the final wave, do not immediately fire your strongest attacks into Slash's shields. Let your dispeller remove Slash's taunt and defensive buffs first, apply crowd control to Leatherhead, and then unleash single-target burst damage on Rockwell.

Farming Efficiency in the 48-Hour Window

Because the Mighty Mutanimals event runs on a strict 2-day limit, failing attempts wastes limited energy and slows progress toward character DNA tokens.

  • Farm Guaranteed Clears: If you cannot clear the highest unlocked stage with a consistent 100% win rate on manual control, drop down to the highest stage you can clear reliably without casualties. Failed runs grant zero partial progress.
  • Target Stat Bottlenecks: If your key dispeller or damage dealer dies to Rockwell's opening attack or Leatherhead's splash damage, spend your available Mutagen to raise their health and defense before spending more event energy.
