To win Arena offense matches in OUTERPLANE, you must secure the first turn with a dedicated speed opener, apply offensive buffs, and wipe the opposing damage dealers with an Area of Effect (AoE) burst striker before the enemy team can retaliate or deploy defensive shields.

Turn Order and Speed Tuning

In OUTERPLANE PvP, Action Priority determines turn order based on raw Speed. The unit with the highest Speed stat acts first. Dedicated openers such as Valentine are designed to take turn one, combining high base speed with immediate party-wide Attack and Critical Hit Chance buffs.

To prevent enemy cut-ins between your opener and your follow-up attacker, follow this turn sequence and stat threshold:

  1. Speed Opener: Moves first to boost Action Priority and apply party-wide offensive buffs.
  2. Secondary Debuffer or Striker: Softens priority targets or applies defense reduction.
  3. Primary Cleaver: Unleashes high-multiplier AoE burst damage to eliminate enemy carries.
  4. Utility or Cleanse: Cleanses remaining debuffs or sustains the team if any enemies survive.

Keep your primary cleaver's total Speed within 15% to 20% of your opener's total Speed. A wider gap allows opposing speed units to interrupt your combo before your damage dealer can act.

Role Breakdown and Gear Sets

Each role in an offensive lineup requires specific gear sets to perform its designated function:

RoleArchetypePrimary PvP FunctionRecommended Gear Set
Opener / BufferSpeed Support (e.g., Valentine)Turn manipulation; party Attack and Critical Hit Chance buffsSpeed (4-piece)
Burst StrikerCleave Attacker (e.g., Noa, Rin)High AoE burst damage; executes backline carriesCritical Damage + Attack or Critical Hit
Reactive HealerCleanser / Sustain (e.g., Tio)Passive debuff cleansing; reactive emergency healingHealth + Resilience or Speed
Control / UtilityDisruptor (e.g., Dolly)Skill delay, Silence, and Accuracy reductionSpeed + Effectiveness

If you cannot outspeed rival cleave teams, flex in a reactive sustain unit like Tio. Tio triggers passive healing and debuff cleansing when an ally suffers a critical hit, mitigating the impact of an enemy's opening strike.

Gear Main Stats and Substats

Allocate right-side equipment main stats according to the unit's combat role:

  • Carries (Strikers): Equip boots with flat Speed or Attack percentage. Equip amulets with Critical Hit Damage and rings with Attack percentage. If your opener provides a Critical Hit Chance buff, invest surplus stats into Critical Hit Damage and Attack rather than over-capping Critical Hit Chance past 100%.
  • Openers: Prioritize Speed on boots. Maximize Speed substats across all gear slots, sacrificing damage and survivability to guarantee turn-one priority.
  • Tanks and Healers: Equip Health percentage across amulets, rings, and boots to scale healing formulas and personal durability.

Substat Priority by Role

When upgrading and reforging gear, prioritize substat rolls in this order:

  • Openers: Speed > Effectiveness > Health % > Defense %
  • Carries: Critical Damage > Critical Chance > Attack % > Speed
  • Bruisers and Tanks: Health % > Defense % > Resilience > Speed

High Resilience on defensive supports prevents enemy disruptors from applying Stun, Silence, or Buff Block, preserving your ability to cleanse the team.

Target Selection in Combat

During match preview and opening turns, identify the enemy's primary win condition:

  • Versus Cleave Teams: Manually target the enemy's squishiest AoE damage dealer on your opening rotation. Eliminating their primary carry prevents incoming burst damage and leaves their support units unable to threaten your team.
  • Versus Control Teams: Focus down the primary disruptor first to avoid cycling debuffs, skill delays, and accuracy penalties.
  • Chain Resource Timing: Spend burst skills and Chain Points on turn one to guarantee key eliminations. Do not target high-defense frontline tanks until the opposing damage dealers and disruptors are neutralized.
