You do not need to spend Ether or Special Recruit tickets to clear launch-day campaign milestones in OUTERPLANE. The four guaranteed starter heroes—K, Eva, Lisha, and Snow—provide a complete class and elemental core capable of clearing the Normal difficulty campaign using only free quest-line equipment and basic level scaling.

Saving your summon currency on day one protects your resources for targeted rate-up banners and guaranteed pity thresholds rather than diluting your currency across the standard recruitment pool.

Free Starter Team Composition

The default roster provides balanced class coverage, including frontline damage mitigation, single-target burst, team healing, and area-of-effect wave clearing.

HeroElement / ClassTeam RolePrimary Combat Utility
KEarth / StrikerPrimary CarrySingle-target burst damage, defense penetration, boss execution
EvaLight / HealerSustain & SupportHealth recovery, debuff cleansing, Action Gauge acceleration
LishaFire / RangerWave ClearerMulti-target damage, mob thinning, turn manipulation
SnowWater / DefenderFrontline TankSingle-target aggro redirection, taunts, shield mitigation

K acts as the central damage dealer for boss stages, while Lisha clears multi-target waves preceding the boss. Snow absorbs incoming single-target hits to keep squishier units alive, and Eva provides consistent healing while advancing your party's turn meter via Action Gauge manipulation.

Early Gear and Upgrade Priority

Early PvE encounters test basic stat thresholds rather than premium character ownership. You can clear early chapters by funneling free milestone and beginner mission rewards into specific roles:

  1. Max out K's level first: Direct all standard Combat Manuals to K so he matches your maximum account rank. Keeping your primary Striker at the level ceiling ensures mob waves clear quickly.
  2. Equip Attack sets on K: Concentrate the free four-piece Attack and Critical gear sets entirely on K. Spreading offensive gear across multiple heroes weakens your overall clear speed.
  3. Equip Health and Defense sets on Snow, then Eva: Place survivability pieces on Snow first to sustain frontline pressure, followed by Eva to improve her durability and healing output.
  4. Cap early gear enhancement at +6 or +9: Upgrading low-tier starter gear past +9 wastes gold. Stop at intermediate breakpoints to secure necessary base stats without draining your upgrade economy.

Boss Mechanics: Weakness Gauge and Chain Skills

Because K (Earth), Lisha (Fire), and Snow (Water) cover the three primary elements, your team can exploit most boss weakness meters in the early campaign.

  • Depleting the Weakness Gauge: Target the boss with elemental advantages to rapidly drain the gauge beneath their health bar. Emptying this bar triggers a Break state, causing the boss to take increased damage and lose turn cycles.
  • Timing Burst and Chain Skills: Conserve Chain Points (CP) during preliminary mob waves. Once the boss enters a Break state, trigger K's Burst skill and unleash your party Chain attacks while the target's defense is reduced.
  • Turn Cycling: Use Eva’s Action Gauge manipulation right before or during a Break phase to cycle your heroes into consecutive turns before the boss recovers.

When to Stop Hoarding Summons

Maintain the no-summon approach until you finish the Normal difficulty campaign or encounter an explicit stat roadblock that free gear upgrades and character levels cannot overcome.

Relying entirely on free units does limit your early competitive ranking in Arena, where premium banner pulls offer immediate base-stat advantages. However, accepting a slower PvP start leaves your account with high quantities of banked Ether and tickets, ensuring you can hit guaranteed pity thresholds on high-value rate-up banners later.
