To clear Skyward Tower Very Hard Floor 9 in OUTERPLANE, tune your primary Action Gauge buffer to at least 210 to 220 Speed to secure the opening turn, clear incoming defense penalties with a dedicated cleanser, and deplete the boss's Weakness Gauge to execute a four-hero Chain Finisher during the Break window.

Team Composition and Setup

Relying on multiple fragile Strikers often results in team wipes before your main burst damage can land. A stable team requires one primary single-target damage dealer, one Action Gauge buffer, one debuffer, and one sustain support equipped to cleanse status effects.

If you struggle to survive the encounter's opening damage, replace a secondary damage dealer with a second cleanser or dedicated healer such as Tio or Saeran.

Speed Tuning and Turn Priority

Very Hard Floor 9 enemies feature high base Speed that allows them to act first if your team lacks sufficient Speed stats.

  1. Buffer Turn (210–220 Speed): Your fastest hero, such as Tamara or Valentine, must act first to push the team's Action Gauge forward and apply critical rate buffs.
  2. Debuffer Turn: Your debuffer must act next to apply Defense Down and Speed penalties to the boss before your attacker takes a turn.
  3. Striker Turn: Slower Strikers can forgo high Speed in favor of maximum Critical Damage, relying entirely on the buffer's Action Gauge advance to jump ahead of the boss.

Failing to outspeed the boss allows the enemy rotation to land area-of-effect defense debuffs and damage over time before your defensive tools can activate.

Chain Skill Alignment and Break Phase

The boss possesses high innate damage reduction while its Weakness Gauge remains intact. Basic attacks, dual strikes, and cooperative attacks generate Chain Points (CP). Once the boss's Weakness Gauge reaches zero, activate a full four-hero Chain Burst to capitalize on the Vulnerable status:

  1. Starter (Slot 1): Use a Ranger or Defender to initiate the chain and remove remaining Weakness Gauge pips.
  2. Enabler (Slot 2): Use a Support to extend team buffs and utility.
  3. Amplifier (Slot 3): Use a Debuffer to refresh or maintain Defense Down throughout the chain.
  4. Finisher (Slot 4): Slot your strongest Striker (such as Noa) in the final position to trigger maximum critical damage multipliers.

Triggering Break resets the boss's action bar and removes its defensive barriers.

Turn Strategy and Common Failure Points

  • Do not commit major burst skills on Turn 1: Attacking into an active Weakness Gauge deals minimal damage and expends long cooldowns prematurely. Save major skills for the Break window.
  • Hold cleanser cooldowns for boss AoE rotations: The boss frequently opens with party-wide attacks that inflict defense drops and recurring damage. Keep Saeran's or Tio's cleanse ready to clear these immediately rather than using healing skills preemptively.
  • Manage supporting adds: If the boss summons ancillary units or generates shields, strip the shields or defeat the adds quickly to prevent team damage from compounding before resuming single-target focus on the boss.
