To beat an adult Tyrannosaurus as a Kentrosaurus in Path of Titans, you must avoid all head-on trades and fight entirely through attrition. A Tyrannosaurus possesses far greater combat weight and raw bite damage, meaning a single frontal bite or bone-break attack will cripple your mobility and end the fight. Your path to victory requires using your superior turn rate and stamina pool to bait missed bites, land tail attacks during the predator's recovery frames, and let bleed damage drain its health over time.

Baiting Bites and Managing Rex Attack Angles

Never approach a Tyrannosaurus from the front while it is facing you. The carnivore's standard bite deals heavy damage, but its charged bone-break bite is the decisive threat. If afflicted with a bone break, your speed drops significantly, eliminating your ability to kite.

To engage safely, feint toward the carnivore's flank to bait an attack animation, then immediately pivot away before entering its jaw hitbox. Once the bite misses, step in to punish the recovery frames with your tail spikes.

Tail Positioning and Bleed Application

The Kentrosaurus delivers its primary offensive damage and bleed through its tail. Facing away from the predator is your standard combat posture. When the Tyrannosaurus pursues you, keep a short gap ahead and time your tail attacks to strike the carnivore's snout or neck as it closes distance.

Bleed in Path of Titans inflicts escalating damage whenever the afflicted dinosaur moves or sprints. Because a Rex player must move to catch you, every step it takes while bleeding drains its health pool. Furthermore, Kentrosaurus has passive spike recoil that reflects damage and stacks bleed if the predator lands a glancing blow against your body spikes. After applying bleed stacks, maintain distance and force the Rex to either chase you and bleed out or stop and open itself to another hit.

Stamina Management Rules

Running out of stamina against an apex carnivore is fatal. While Kentrosaurus has superior stamina reserves and recovery compared to a Tyrannosaurus, reckless sprinting will deplete your meter. Manage your stamina using these rules:

  • Trot by default: When the Rex is walking, turning slowly, or maintaining distance, drop to a trot to regenerate your stamina bar.
  • Sprint only in short bursts: Reserve sprint exclusively for baiting a bite animation, dodging a charge, or quickly closing in to punish a whiffed attack.
  • Do not jump: Jumping drains large amounts of stamina without offering an evasive benefit against a Rex's tall hitboxes.
  • Interrupt rest attempts: If the Rex sits or crouches to regain stamina or heal bleed, approach at a trot and strike it once to cancel the rest state and refresh the bleed timer.

Using Obstacles to Disrupt Charge Lines

Fighting in wide, open plains favors the Tyrannosaurus by giving it uninterrupted sprint lines. Relocate the duel toward dense forests, rocky outcrops, or narrow pathways whenever possible.

The large collision box and poor turning radius of a Tyrannosaurus make navigating tight spaces difficult. Weave between closely spaced trees or boulders where the Rex cannot follow cleanly without snagging its collision model. When the carnivore gets stuck or slows down to turn around an obstacle, step behind its flank to land free tail strikes, ensuring you always keep an open exit route behind you.
