Petit Planet Character Creation and Radial Menu Guide

When starting Petit Planet, set your character's visual appearance during initial game entry, then press and hold your platform's designated radial menu button during gameplay to quickly trigger equipped emotes and social actions.

Customizing Your Avatar Appearance

The character creation screen appears directly after the opening animation when starting the game. Rather than forcing preset defaults, the tools allow you to customize specific visual features:

• Facial Features: Adjust eye shape, nose bridge, and mouth placement.
• Color Wheels: Select custom hair and skin tone shades to establish your avatar's overall palette.
• Clothing Previews: Test available outfits and accessories against your chosen physical features before confirming your final design.

Additional cosmetic items and clothing options can be expanded later by completing quest log milestones or checking the in-game store as you progress through the test build.

Using the Radial Menu for Emotes and Actions

During active gameplay, open the radial menu to express social actions without navigating through deep UI menus.

1. Open the Menu: Hold the assigned radial menu button on your controller or keyboard to open the circular UI on screen.
2. Select an Expression: Move your cursor or directional control toward your target slot.
3. Trigger the Action: Release or confirm the selection to perform the assigned emote or life-sim action instantly.

Recommended Emote Layouts

Because slot capacity on the radial wheel is limited, organize your active menu slots based on your current gameplay focus:

• Social & Group Areas: Equip greeting actions (waves, bows) and reactive expressions (delight, surprise) when visiting shared hubs or fishing with neighbors.
• Solo Exploration & Tasks: Equip functional shortcuts, such as sitting down or inspecting items, to signal intent during quiet activities like gardening.

Update your radial menu slots periodically as you unlock new social expressions through progression events in the Final Beta Test.
