To handle aggressive enemy encounters and prevent stunlocking in Petit Planet, dodge during wind-up telegraph animations, lure enemies to flat ground, and temporarily disengage if you get pinned against obstacles.

Exploiting Enemy Attack Telegraphs

Many hostile entities in Petit Planet rely on a lunge-and-retreat movement cycle. When an enemy initiates an attack, watch for its wind-up animation rather than standing still or attempting to absorb incoming hits directly.

Sidestepping or repositioning during this wind-up window causes the enemy's hit-box detection to miss. Once the attack whiffs, the enemy enters a brief stationary recovery window. Use this window to land counter-attacks safely before the entity resumes its movement script.

Managing Combat Positioning and Terrain

Environmental geometry significantly impacts combat performance in Petit Planet. Fighting on sloped or uneven terrain often causes player attacks to miss while enemy hit-boxes remain active across elevation changes.

When engaging high-mobility enemies:

• Move toward flat ground before committing to melee or ranged attack sequences.
• Stay near the outer edge of an enemy's aggro radius to force predictable approach animations.
• Maintain a buffer zone to prevent overlapping attack frames from interrupting your character.
• Use ranged capabilities from outside the enemy's primary threat zone to minimize damage.

Breaking Stunlock Loops and Prioritizing Targets

Attempting to fight aggressive enemies head-on in tight corridors or against walls can trigger recovery loops where your character suffers consecutive knockbacks.

If trapped or overwhelmed by continuous attacks, stop attacking and prioritize movement to disengage. Retreating outside the enemy's aggressive boundary resets its behavioral script back to a neutral roaming state. Once the AI resets, re-approach from a favorable angle.

To conserve healing consumables during exploration, prioritize high-threat targets first:

1. Eliminate enemies with area-of-effect or knockback attacks to clear room on the battleground.
2. Focus down single targets sequentially to reduce overall incoming aggression.
3. Clean up slower, predictable enemies last once high-mobility threats are removed.
