The Pokémon TCG Pocket update adds in-game public deck sharing, increases total deck storage slots, and raises the account level cap to Level 70 ahead of the Dual Fusion (C1) expansion. Players can now publish card lists directly from the deck builder, inspect community deck structures against their owned binders, and earn account rewards across 20 new levels.

How to Use Public Decks and Card Inspection

The public deck feature lets you publish your own lists and review setups built by other players without using third-party deck-sharing websites.

  • Toggling Deck Visibility: Inside the deck builder, you can switch any deck's status between public and private. Keeping a deck private hides experimental setups or tournament-specific tech, while public visibility displays your 20-card list on your profile.
  • Inspecting 20-Card Lists: When viewing a public deck from a friend or opponent, the game shows the full 20-card distribution, including Pokémon evolutions, Trainer card counts, and specific card rarities.
  • Checking Collection Ownership: The deck viewer compares the inspected list directly with your personal card binder. Cards already in your collection appear available, while unowned copies are highlighted.
  • Assessing Card Acquisition: Inspecting missing cards allows you to determine whether you need to spend Pack Points or Trade tokens to complete the list before taking it into battles.

When copying an unfamiliar deck, check the energy requirements and retreat costs first. Public lists frequently rely on specific Trainer lines, such as Sabrina or Professor's Research, to execute aggressive low-energy attacks or stall engines. If you lack an EX card or high-rarity variant, slotting in a base-rarity duplicate or a compatible basic Pokémon with matching energy requirements lets you test the deck's pacing before spending crafting resources.

Allocating Expanded Deck Slots

The update increases overall deck capacity so you can retain standard competitive lineups while preparing for events. Rather than dismantling functioning lists to create temporary event decks, distribute your slots across distinct gameplay functions:

  • Core Battle Slots: Keep your primary, fully optimized lists reserved for regular versus matches and ladder formats.
  • Solo and Event Slots: Dedicate slots to specialized single-type or mission-specific builds needed to clear automated solo battles and themed gym events.
  • Testing Slots: Use open slots to adjust Trainer counts, test energy curves, and experiment with unrefined archetypes without altering your core decks.
  • Showcase Slots: Maintain finalized, fully assembled lists marked as public for community followers and friends to inspect.

Level 70 Cap and Resource Milestones

The maximum account rank is now Level 70, up from the original Level 50 ceiling. Experience points (EXP) accumulated while previously capped at Level 50 did not apply retroactively, so all players at the cap start leveling toward Level 70 from the same point.

Milestone RangePrimary EXP ActivitiesAccount Reward Utility
Levels 1–50Daily missions, solo battle clears, first-time match winsUnlocks initial account features and standard booster packs.
Levels 51–60Daily step completions, casual battles, ranked matchesGrants Pack Hourglasses, Wonder Hourglasses, and Shop Tickets.
Levels 61–70Daily mission routines and sustained match participationBuilds an inventory of Pack Hourglasses for upcoming card expansions.

The Pack Hourglasses earned through levels 51 to 70 reduce stamina timers on pack openings. Saving these hourglasses rather than spending them immediately allows you to open extra booster packs on the launch day of upcoming sets like Dual Fusion (C1) without spending Poké Gold.
