To arrest and process suspects in Police Chief, move directly into range of a person committing an offense, select the arrest command, and remain completely still while the restraint animation completes. Afterwards, escort the suspect to your patrol vehicle, return to the station, and clear them through the intake desk or holding cell.

Initiating and Completing the Physical Arrest

Subduing a suspect requires direct physical proximity and careful execution of interaction prompts.

  1. Close Distance Immediately: Approach the individual as soon as illegal behavior is detected. Remaining at a distance risks triggering an AI flight response, which forces a longer field pursuit.
  2. Trigger the Arrest Option: When you are within range, open the context menu or interaction wheel and select the arrest option once the prompt highlights.
  3. Remain Stationary: Hold your position while the officer performs the restraint animation. Moving your officer before the animation finishes cancels the interaction and forces you to restart the arrest.
  4. Confirm Compliance: Watch the interface for the subdued state confirmation. Once restrained, the suspect will become compliant and follow your movement.

Transporting and Booking Suspects

An arrest remains active until the suspect is delivered to your precinct's intake system.

  • Loading the Vehicle: Walk the restrained suspect to your patrol car and interact with the door to place them in the back seat.
  • Patrol Restrictions: Holding a suspect in your vehicle locks your unit out of initiating new high-speed pursuits or taking additional emergency calls. Drive straight to the precinct to avoid bottlenecks.
  • Precinct Booking: Park at the precinct, interact with the vehicle to unload the detainee, and escort them inside.
  • Intake Clearance: Ensure processing desks or holding cells are not overcrowded before intake. Complete the booking prompts at the desk to register the suspect, earn precinct rewards, and clear your vehicle for duty.
