Police Chief: Reopening the Abandoned Precinct and Initial Site Cleanup

To reopen the abandoned station in Police Chief, clear interior debris manually and restore electricity at the central breaker panel before purchasing equipment or assigning staff. Restoring power unlocks essential computer terminals and surveillance systems required to log evidence, take crime reports, and process suspects.

1. Clear Interior Debris and Restore Power

Start your administration by preparing the building infrastructure and turning on utilities.

1. Clear Interior Obstacles: Manually interact with waste, trash, and abandoned office clutter on the main floor. Removing these items establishes navigation paths for officers and opens up floor space for station furniture.
2. Access the Central Utility Panel: Locate the main breaker box inside the station and interact with it to restore power.
3. Confirm System Activation: Check that internal lighting, evidence computer terminals, surveillance monitors, and holding cell security systems turn online.

Allocating initial budget funds to basic utility restoration takes priority over buying vehicles or decorative items during early station setup.

2. Configure Precinct Workflow and Station Staffing

Once the building is powered, set up clear functional zones to maintain efficient daily operations.

• Booking Desk Placement: Position your booking desk near the main entrance so officers can intake suspects immediately without routing them through administrative offices.
• Holding Cell Access: Locate temporary detention cells within short walking distance of the booking area to minimize transit times inside the facility.
• Desk Duty Assignments: Place officers at powered computer terminals to process incoming crime reports, file paperwork, and check city databases.
• Patrol Routing: Clear direct paths from desk areas and equipment storage lockers to the vehicle bay so patrol officers can respond to calls quickly.

Establishing streamlined walking routes and functional zones early prevents costly floor plan reorganizations when your precinct expands.
