To prevent enemy attacks and avoid losses in Puzzles & Survival, make your sanctuary an unprofitable target by keeping unbagged resources below your Warehouse protection limit, sheltering your troops, and activating Peace Shields during high-risk hours. Hostile alliances target sanctuaries that show large amounts of exposed loot and unshielded troops.
Manage Resources to Discourage Scouts
Hostile players scout for bases that offer substantial loot for minimal effort. Your Warehouse protects a set quota of Food, Wood, Steel, and Gas from being plundered. Any resources accumulated above this cap show up in scout reports as lootable inventory.
- Keep resource boxes in your Bag: Never open resource tokens until you are ready to spend them immediately on construction, research, or troop training. Resources inside your Bag cannot be viewed or looted.
- Spend or donate excess stock: If your resource reserves exceed your Warehouse limit, spend the excess immediately. If you have no open building or research queues, donate resources toward Alliance Tech or trade them to shielded allies.
| Resource State | Visibility to Scouts | Plunder Vulnerability | Required Player Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inside Bag | Completely hidden | Zero loot risk | Keep unboxed until actively spending |
| Below Warehouse Cap | Visible in report | Safe from attacks | Maintain as standard operating level |
| Above Warehouse Cap | Visible in report | High attack priority | Spend on upgrades or donate to tech |
Protect Troops with Shelters and Alternate Havens
Unshielded troops stationed in your sanctuary automatically defend against incoming attacks. Any casualties that exceed your Infirmary capacity are permanently lost. If you cannot maintain a Peace Shield, hide your forces so scouts find no troops to kill.
- Send troops to the Shelter: The Shelter protects your Commander and primary march for intervals of 1, 4, 8, or 12 hours. Troops inside the Shelter cannot be harmed by enemy attacks.
- Reinforce shielded alliance members or Alliance Forts: Send extra marches to reinforce an ally with an active shield or station them inside an Alliance Fort to keep them safe off-base.
- Set an 8-hour ghost rally: If you have leftover marches and no open shelters, start an 8-hour rally against a distant Zombie Lair. Your units remain locked in rally status and cannot be attacked in your base while the rally timer runs.
Deploy Peace Shields and Anti-Scout Items
Peace Shields and recon blockers provide direct layers of defense against hostile attention.
- Peace Shields: Activating a Peace Shield makes your sanctuary completely immune to enemy scouts, attacks, and rallies. Shields are available in 8-hour, 24-hour, and 3-day durations from the Diamond Shop, the Alliance Shop, and milestone event rewards. Use 8-hour shields while sleeping or working, and run continuous shields during Kill Events, such as the Ace Survivor kill phase.
- Anti-Scout: An Anti-Scout item conceals your troop tiers, hero defenses, and resource levels from enemy reconnaissance. While it does not stop an attack from landing, raiders rarely risk marching blind against a potential trap base.
Relocate Inside an Alliance Hive
Isolated bases on the state map are prime targets because they cannot receive rapid support. Moving your sanctuary into your alliance's central territory (the Alliance Hive) reduces march distances for allied reinforcements and activates territory defense benefits.
When your sanctuary sits inside the hive, nearby allies receive fast alert warnings and can reinforce your base with higher-tier garrisons before an enemy march lands. If an overwhelming rally targets your base while you are offline, being positioned near allies allows them to assess the threat and coordinate defensive garrisons or advise the alliance to shelter troops.
