To beat Level 3979 in Royal Kingdom, focus your opening moves on the bottom-center of the board to break multi-layer blockers, open up tile drop channels, and set up high-impact booster combinations. Combining a Magic Ball with a Rocket or TNT provides the board-wide reach needed to clear remaining targets within the move limit.
Target the Lower Board to Start Cascades
Board congestion from durable multi-hit obstacles restricts incoming tile flow on Level 3979. Matching tiles near the top of the grid produces minimal impact when lower channels are blocked.
Direct your earliest moves to matches at the base of the board to accomplish two goals:
- Trigger passive matches: Shifting tiles in lower columns forces columns above to fall, creating automatic three-tile matches.
- Expose obstacles efficiently: Falling cascades chip away at encased blockers without requiring direct, turn-consuming matches against each one.
Scan the bottom half during your initial turns. Unless a top-row match creates an immediate booster, ignore upper-corner moves in favor of matches adjacent to lower barriers.
Clear Blockers from the Center Outward
Trying to wear down every perimeter obstacle evenly will deplete your turn counter before clearing the required objectives. Focus matches on a central lane to restore normal tile flow into the lower basin.
| Target Priority | Board Position | Tactical Objective |
|---|---|---|
| High | Center columns, lower half | Clears main channels to allow fresh tiles to flood the board. |
| Medium | Inner perimeter barriers | Widens the board to create space for four-tile and T-shape matches. |
| Low | Outer edges and top corners | Offers low cascade potential; clear using collateral booster blasts. |
Puncturing the center creates the space necessary to assemble special tiles. Leave edge and corner blockers to be cleared by the blast radiuses of your boosters.
Prioritize Explosive Booster Combinations
Standard three-tile matches cannot clear Level 3979 before your moves run out. You must create and combine power-ups to clear dense clusters across the board.
Magic Ball + Rocket
Pairing a Magic Ball with an arrow Rocket is the most effective clear on this stage. This combination transforms every tile matching the Rocket's color into a directed Rocket that fires along horizontal and vertical lines. It strips layers off reinforced obstacles across the entire board in a single turn. Avoid detonating a Magic Ball on its own if you can maneuver a Rocket next to it.
TNT + TNT or TNT + Rocket
When a Magic Ball is unavailable, combine explosive items:
- TNT + TNT: Creates an expanded blast radius spanning approximately a five-by-five tile area, wiping out heavily fortified clusters instantly.
- TNT + Rocket: Clears a cross pattern three tiles wide horizontally and vertically, which quickly opens congested central lanes.
Common Turn Pitfalls to Avoid
Protect your move budget by cutting out low-value actions during the middle and late phases of the stage:
- Detonating solo Rockets: Firing an isolated Rocket that only clips ordinary tiles wastes a turn. Hold it to trigger adjacent explosives or wait to slide it next to a Magic Ball.
- Top-half clears with no board impact: Avoid matches near the top of the grid unless they produce a booster or directly hit an objective.
- Popping standalone Magic Balls: Removing a single color temporarily alters tile odds, but it rarely produces enough board damage on tightly packed stages to justify losing a potential combo.
Once the main obstacles are cleared and only scattered objectives remain, shift from broad area damage to targeted alignment. Use standalone vertical or horizontal Rockets to hit remaining pieces trapped in awkward corners or indentations.

I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
Nice guide. I am checking the other Royal Kingdom articles next.
This helped me understand strategy much better.
