To beat Level 218 in Royal Match, spend your opening moves breaking the central obstacles to restore tile flow before targeting peripheral pieces. Once the central board opens up, shift your focus to making matches along the bottom rows to trigger automatic cascades, and combine power-ups to clear remaining targets within your turn limit.
Early Moves: Clear Central Bottlenecks
Level 218 restricts your board space from the start, making it difficult to create four- or five-tile matches until you dismantle the central barriers. Do not waste opening moves on easy matches along the top rows that leave blocked spaces untouched.
Prioritize your early moves in this order:
- Dispenser Blockers: Clear obstacles directly below tile entry points so new pieces can fall into the main columns.
- Multi-Hit Barriers: Use adjacent vertical matches to wear down layered obstacles in the center rather than matching tiles on disconnected edges.
- Square Formations: Form 2x2 matching squares to generate Propellers, which fly directly to isolated barriers.
Breaking through the center expands the playable board, giving you the space needed to craft high-value power-ups.
High-Value Power-Up Combinations
Detonating single power-ups is rarely enough to complete the level within the move limit. Combining two adjacent special pieces clears significantly more board area per turn.
| Combination | Primary Tactical Benefit | Recommended Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Light Ball + Rocket | Converts all matching tiles into Rockets to sweep rows and columns | Mid-game across an opened board |
| TNT + Rocket | Clears three full rows and three columns in a wide cross | Early to mid-game to shatter clustered obstacles |
| Light Ball + TNT | Spawns multiple TNT barrels to clear dense barriers across the field | Mid-game when heavy obstacle clusters remain |
| Propeller + TNT | Delivers an explosive blast directly to a distant, high-priority target | Late-game for hard-to-reach targets |
The pairing of a Light Ball and a Rocket is the most effective tool on this board. Align five identical pieces in a row to create a Light Ball, then wait to swap it with a Rocket to sweep remaining objectives in a single turn.
Mid-Game: Work from the Bottom Rows
Once the central columns are clear, direct your attention to the bottom half of the grid. Matches made at the base displace entire columns above them, increasing the probability of secondary matches, falling combos, and automatic power-up creation.
Before taking a move in the upper rows, check if a bottom match can shift the board into a better layout. Only make upper-row moves if they directly damage an active objective or immediately form a TNT barrel or Light Ball.
Late-Game Clean-Up and Resource Management
In the final turns of Level 218, rely on Propellers rather than standard three-tile matches to clear scattered, lone targets. Propellers automatically target active level objectives, saving you from spending multiple moves chasing isolated tiles in the corners.
If you have fewer than three moves left and several dispersed obstacles remain, do not spend gold coins or use tools like the Royal Hammer. Unless a booster directly guarantees a win on that turn, accept the loss and restart. Retrying preserves your items and lets you apply the board layout knowledge on a fresh attempt.
