To beat Level 603 in Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle, build continuous, wall-to-wall horizontal layers of a single color while keeping the stack well below the upper boundary line. Incoming blocks disintegrate into loose sand upon impact, so you must level out high center peaks, drop matching colors into active clearing lanes, and divert conflicting colors to the side walls to avoid trapping unfinished rows beneath mismatched sand.

Board Clearance and Sand Flow Mechanics

Rows clear in Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle only when matching sand forms a seamless, unbroken band from the left wall to the right wall. When blocks land, they crumble into individual grains that slide down existing inclines until they reach physical rest. Stacking blocks directly onto high points creates steep pyramids, causing later drops to roll unpredictably toward the sides and scatter into mixed colors.

To keep the board stable:

  • Drop into depressions: Aim flat pieces into valleys to level the foundation across several columns.
  • Avoid piling onto central peaks: Steep mounds divide your drop area and force sand to slide away from where you intended it to settle.
  • Use wall edges to bank drops: Sand dropped against an outer wall slides inward in a controlled direction, making it easier to build foundation bands toward the center.

Preventing Lane Contamination

The primary fail state on Level 603 is capping an incomplete single-color layer with a mismatched block. If a yellow sand band extends across 80% of the board, dropping a blue or red piece over that open gap traps the yellow grains underneath. You then have to build and clear an entirely new layer on top before the buried yellow sand can be completed.

Manage incoming pieces to protect your active clearing lanes:

  1. Identify the primary color project: Choose the widest base color currently on the floor and focus on completing its wall-to-wall connection.
  2. Divert non-matching pieces to a corner: If the incoming block does not match your active floor color, drop it against the far left or far right boundary.
  3. Switch projects after a clear: Once your main line clears, transition to the corner mound and use it as the foundation for your next color clear.

Piece Orientation and Gap Filling

Rotate tetromino shapes before dropping them to dictate how the sand spreads across the grid:

  • Horizontal orientation: Rotating shapes flat spreads sand broadly across multiple columns. Use this to link separated pockets of identical sand into an unbroken clear line.
  • Vertical orientation: Keeping pieces upright concentrates the falling grains into a narrow column. Use this to inject sand directly into deep, narrow gaps without spilling into neighboring color zones.

Recovering from High Stack Heights

If the sand stack climbs to within two or three block heights of the top border, switch from building wide multi-row clears to rapid stack reduction.

To lower the stack quickly and avoid a game over:

  • Target the highest peak: Match whatever color sits immediately below the top fail line in the tallest column to drop that peak down.
  • Make micro-clears: Clear any small, accessible horizontal segment immediately rather than waiting for a full-board combo.
  • Dump off-color blocks in low corners: Never place an unneeded color in the center of a crowded board; dump it where the column height is lowest to preserve drop clearance.
