To improve performance in SilverPalace without sacrificing visual clarity, set character textures to High or Ultra and disable both Motion Blur and Depth of Field. If frame rates drop during intense combat, lower Ambient Occlusion and shadow resolution before touching texture quality or render scaling.
Texture and Shadow Adjustments
Hero models and visual cues rely heavily on crisp rendering. Lowering shadows or post-processing provides performance headroom while keeping character assets sharp.
- Texture Quality: Set to High or Ultra based on your GPU's VRAM capacity. Expressive facial animations and character silhouettes require higher texture resolutions to remain clear.
- Shadow Quality: Set to at least Medium. Dropping shadows further flattens the depth of Victorian-inspired architecture, making interactive elements harder to distinguish from backgrounds.
- Ambient Occlusion: Turn Off or set to Low first if you experience frame drops. Ambient Occlusion creates soft shadows where objects meet, but it consumes heavy GPU resources compared to main lighting shadow resolution.
Post-Processing and Motion Controls
Post-processing adds cinematic effects, but several features obscure essential combat and environmental information.
- Motion Blur: Turn Off. Removing blur keeps enemy telegraphs and movement crisp during fast camera rotations and combat sequences.
- Depth of Field: Turn Off. Disabling background blurring makes hidden items, interactable objects, and navigation paths visible during exploration.
Render Scaling and Interface Options
If hardware limits performance at native resolutions, adjust render scaling instead of dropping individual texture presets to Low.
| Setting | Recommended Value | Hardware Impact | Priority Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Texture Quality | High / Ultra | VRAM dependent | Preserves hero silhouettes and animation details. |
| Shadow Quality | Medium | Moderate | Retains environmental contrast and room depth. |
| Ambient Occlusion | Low / Off | High | Frees GPU resources without flattening core lights. |
| Motion Blur | Off | Low | Keeps enemy action cues legible during rotation. |
| Depth of Field | Off | Low | Sharpen environmental items and tight paths. |
| Render Scale | 85–90% | High | Gains frame stability while maintaining crisp textures. |
- Set display resolution to your display's native resolution.
- Reduce internal Render Scale to 85–90% if frame rates stutter during combat.
- Check the Accessibility Menu to increase the UI Scale if lower render scaling makes text or HUD elements blurry.

I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
Good guide for SilverPalace players. The strategy part was useful.
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
Nice guide. I am checking the other SilverPalace articles next.
