To clear Chapter 1 Act 2 ("The Deceased") in SilverPalace, fully restore your squad's health before moving through narrative transition points, spread out squad members to avoid area-of-effect (AOE) attacks, and save your crowd-control skills for boss attack wind-ups. Because Act 2 marks the final portion of the Closed Beta Test (CBT) main story, encounters offer limited opportunities to retreat or farm resources mid-fight.
Spotting Narrative Combat Triggers
Act 2 transitions into locked narrative combat zones without warning screens. You can spot an upcoming fight by watching two specific visual triggers:
- Background Aesthetic: The environment darkens to match the "Ashes of Cinderella" theme.
- Camera Pan: The camera shifts focal length to emphasize the surrounding environment rather than your characters.
Crossing into these trigger areas immediately locks your squad into a localized fight. Because environmental hazards in Act 2 cause passive damage, entering a trigger zone with low health risks early squad wipes before elite units even engage.
Positioning Against "The Deceased" Enemies
Enemies in the "Deceased" category rely heavily on lane denial and high-damage area attacks. To maintain maneuverability, adjust your combat positioning based on unit size:
- Disperse Your Formation: Avoid stacking units in a single lane. Spreading your squad across the arena prevents boss AOE attacks from clipping multiple characters at once.
- Target Mobile Mobs First: Clear fast-moving small enemies around the perimeter immediately. Eliminating small mobs opens space behind high-threat targets so your primary damage dealer can strike without getting surrounded.
- Break Line-of-Sight: Use map structures such as pillars and fallen rubble to block incoming ranged projectiles. Drawing ranged targets into tight choke points forces them to cluster, maximizing your own AOE skill value.
Timing Skills and Managing Boss Resources
Story bosses in Act 2 feature elevated poise stats and enter a heightened aggression phase once reduced below 50% health. Standard attacks will not interrupt their heavy actions.
- Interrupt Windows: Watch for a glowing animation on the boss during heavy attack wind-ups. Fire crowd-control or stagger skills directly into this animation window to cancel the incoming blow.
- Stamina Management: Hold at least one dodge meter charge specifically for telegraphed boss finisher moves rather than spending stamina on low-damage basic attacks.
- Buff Alignment: Save your support buffs and ultimate abilities until the boss is in a broken or staggered state, or until its health drops into the second half of the fight.
If your team hits a damage wall during the final battle of Act 2, reconfigure your roster's gear loadout toward crowd control and stagger stats rather than raw damage output.

I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
Good guide for SilverPalace players. The strategy part was useful.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
The explanation is clear, especially for beginners.
