Slayer Legend: How to Defeat the Ancient Dragon

To defeat the Ancient Dragon in Slayer Legend, replace your wide-area farming abilities with single-target burst skills and manually time your offensive buffs before the combat timer runs out. The encounter is primarily a strict damage-per-second (DPS) check rather than a test of defensive endurance.

Boss Mechanics and Build Strategy

The Ancient Dragon consists of a single target with a deep health pool governed by an enrage timer. Area-of-effect spells and movement skills that clear standard stage waves offer no benefit here.

Your defensive stats only need to be high enough to survive baseline incoming attacks. Allocating skill slots or spirit slots to excess healing or damage reduction weakens your offensive output, causing you to fail the encounter due to the timer.

Equip concentrated strike skills that scale directly with Attack, Critical Damage, and Death Strike chance:

Noah: Provides a specialized damage multiplier against boss targets alongside a temporary shield to absorb incoming attacks.
Loar: Adds flat damage amplification against high-rank monsters that stacks multiplicatively with your equipped skills.
Sala: Increases elemental burst potential and applies burn damage over time.
Todd (Situational): Slot Todd in place of Sala only if your character dies before the timer expires. Once your gear enables you to withstand baseline hits, switch back to Sala for maximum damage.

Combat Execution and Buff Timing

Leaving combat entirely on auto-battle often wastes damage by firing major skills outside active buff windows. Managing key abilities manually prevents this desynchronization.

Pre-cast buffs before engagement: Activate Wrath of Gods or Rave right before engaging the dragon so the duration covers your entire opening sequence.
Synchronize Demon Hunt: Cast Demon Hunt only while your Attack, Attack Speed, and Critical buffs are actively running.
