Soul Legion: Idle RPG: Early Campaign Combat and Squad Setup Guide

To push past early Combat Power bottlenecks in Soul Legion: Idle RPG (Stages 1–24), manually control hero abilities and position durable tank units on the front line. While combat runs automatically by default, active intervention during early stages prevents wasted ultimate abilities and keeps fragile damage dealers alive against tougher enemy waves.

Front-Line Deployment and Lane Adjustments

Positioning determines which heroes take initial damage when a stage starts. Place high-durability defenders or tanks in the front of your formation to create a shield for backline damage dealers and support units.

If a stage ends in defeat because your front-line hero dies too quickly, adjust their position:

• Swap Lanes: Moving your tank to a different lane forces enemy units to recalculate their movement path, distributing incoming damage more evenly.
• Protect Ranged Heroes: Ensure ranged attackers remain isolated behind your front line so their skills are not interrupted by melee enemies.

Manual Skill Timing

Relying on automatic skill triggers often wastes powerful ultimate abilities on low-health minions or during transitions between waves. Monitor the hero ability icons located at the bottom of the screen. When an icon glows, the skill is ready to fire.

Hold high-impact abilities for two key moments:

1. New Wave Spawns: Trigger area-of-effect skills immediately as a fresh cluster of enemies enters the field to clear minor foes quickly.
2. Elite Enemies: Save concentrated burst damage for elite target spawns to eliminate high-threat units before they deal fatal damage to your front line.

UI Indicators and Idle Progression Limits

The combat interface provides visual feedback to signal when your current formation needs mechanical adjustments or gear upgrades:

• Glowing Ability Icons: Signals that ultimate skills are charged and available for manual activation.
• Health Bars: Tracking rapid drops in front-line health signals an improper lane assignment or under-leveled tank.
• Combat Power Indicators: Indicates whether your squad meets the baseline strength for the current stage.

Manual intervention allows your squad to clear content slightly above your recommended Combat Power. Once your front line falls quickly despite lane swaps and optimal skill timing, you have reached your squad's current progression cap. At this point, transition to offline or AFK farming to collect level-up resources and gear upgrades before attempting higher stages.
