Surviving Kill Day in State of Survival requires securing your settlement before the event stage begins. Hostile alliances scout and target undefended settlements and gathering marches across the map. To avoid catastrophic troop deaths and plundered resources, you must maintain an active Peace Flare or empty your base of vulnerable targets.
Maintain Active Peace Flares
The most dependable defense is an uninterrupted Peace Flare shield. Attackers scout targets hours before the stage resets and will launch strikes against exposed bases immediately. Once an enemy march launches toward your settlement, activating a shield will not cancel the incoming attack.
| Shield Duration | Cost | Recommended Timing |
|---|---|---|
| 8-Hour Flare | 500 Biocaps | Short daytime breaks and offline periods |
| 24-Hour Flare | 1,000 Biocaps | Overnight rest and long work shifts |
Purchasing shields with Biocaps costs significantly less than healing high-tier infantry, riders, and hunters in your Hospital. If your alliance has unlocked them, buy Peace Flares from the Alliance Store using Alliance Honor points instead of spending Biocaps.
Hide Troops Outside Unshielded Settlements
If you lack the Biocaps or shields to cover the entire Kill Day period, remove your combat units from your settlement. An unshielded base with zero troops awards negligible kill points to attackers, making it an unappealing target for repeated rallies.
- Alliance Bunker (Shelter): Stash your highest-tier units and primary heroes in the Bunker for up to 12 hours. Troops in the Bunker cannot be attacked, wounded, or targeted.
- Garrison Shielded Allies: March your remaining squads into a settlement owned by an ally who maintains a verified 24-hour or multi-day Peace Flare. Confirm that the host player does not plan to drop their shield to attack.
- Cross-Map Rallies: As an emergency measure before going offline, launch a 60-minute rally against a distant high-level Infected Fiend or inactive target. Your units remain protected outside your settlement for the duration of the march and rally preparation.
An emptied settlement may still suffer minor wall durability damage from raiders, but your army will avoid combat casualties entirely.
Deplete Resources Below Warehouse Caps
Hostile players scout for uncollected resources in addition to event points. Your Warehouse protects a fixed amount of food, wood, metal, and gas based on its building level. Any inventory above that cap is looted during a defeat.
- Keep resource crates in your Backpack until you are ready to start an immediate construction, research, or training project.
- Spend excess unshielded resources on settlement upgrades or troop training before the event begins.
- Donate surplus resources to your Alliance Warehouse or alliance technology research.
- Transfer leftover supplies to shielded alliance members who can hold them safely.
Cease Wilderness Gathering
Never send gathering marches to resource tiles on the open state map during Kill Day. Hostile players constantly sweep the map for exposed gathering nodes, and defending squads on resource tiles receive no settlement wall buffs or defensive trap bonuses.
If farming is necessary, gather exclusively from your Alliance Resource Node inside alliance territory. This boundary grants visibility on incoming enemy march lines. If unauthorized marchers approach your alliance perimeter, recall your gathering squads immediately.
Manage Hospital Capacity to Prevent Troop Deaths
Your Hospital capacity determines whether defeated units survive as wounded troops or die permanently. When incoming attacks fill your Hospital beds to maximum capacity, any additional casualties are permanently lost.
- Clear Beds Early: Heal all lingering injured troops before Kill Day resets so you enter the event with maximum capacity available.
- Upgrade Facilities: Keep your Hospital level matched with your Headquarters to maximize total bed count.
- Avoid Panic-Healing: If an enemy attacks your settlement, do not use speedups to heal units while your base remains unshielded. Healing troops while hostile marches are active creates fresh targets for follow-up hits. Activate a Peace Flare first, verify incoming threats have ceased, and request alliance help to heal wounded units gradually.
