To push Volcaris past 110,000 Max HP in Summoners War World Arena (RTA), commit slots 2, 4, and 6 to HP% main stats, stack flat HP substats with Legend-tier grinds, and pair him with dedicated immunity units to absorb heavy first-turn burst.
Rune Configurations and Stat Priority
Hitting the 110,000 HP threshold requires sacrificing Speed on slot 2 and Critical Damage on slot 4 in favor of pure health scaling. Select rune sets and substats based on whether your priority is raw pool size, turn cycling, or cutting turn order.
| Rune Setup | Primary Strengths | Trade-Offs | Best Application |
|---|---|---|---|
| Triple Energy / Will | Lowest stat requirement to exceed 110,000 HP; maximum raw bulk | Minimal turn cycling; susceptible to continuous crowd control | Direct counter to first-turn cleave and burst drafts |
| Violent / Will (HP/HP/HP) | Cycles cooldowns faster and shakes off crowd control effects | Requires extreme rune substats to reach the 110k HP benchmark | Extended matches against standard bruiser teams |
| Nemesis / Energy / Will | Cuts enemy attack chains when absorbing heavy single-target hits | Yields a slightly lower maximum health pool than Triple Energy | Interrupting multi-hit cleave compositions |
For left and right artifacts, run HP primary stats on both slots. Prioritize secondary attributes that reduce incoming burst, including:
- Reduced Critical Damage Taken: Prevents high-crit damage dealers from bypassing your raw health value.
- Damage Reduction from Fire/Water/Wind: Lowers incoming damage based on the attacking element.
- Increased Recovery: Amplifies health restored by external healers.
Draft Strategy and Team Synergies
A pure HP Volcaris lacks high turn frequency and individual damage output. To prevent opponents from ignoring him or whittling him down with debuffs, draft supportive teammates that protect his health pool:
- Immunity and Cleanse Anchors (Woosa, Velajuel, Riley): Continuous damage and Defense Break deal percentage-based damage that invalidates high HP pools. Reliable immunity shields Volcaris from debuff-heavy control.
- Threat Units: Pair Volcaris with active bruisers or damage scalers. If your backline deals sufficient threat, the opposing team cannot afford to ignore your side while failing to take down Volcaris.
Draft Volcaris when the opponent reveals aggressive single-target nukers early in the pick-and-ban phase. Forcing an opponent to expend major offensive cooldowns on a 110k HP target wastes their early-turn momentum.
Matchups and Mechanical Weaknesses
While Volcaris resists burst damage, certain mechanics and counter-picks neutralize pure health stacking:
- Battle Frenzy Health Decay: World Arena gradually decreases maximum HP and increases attack power as turns advance. While Volcaris still retains more net health than conventional units under Battle Frenzy, prolonged matches reduce his initial advantage.
- Continuous Damage and Max HP Scaling: Debuffs that deal fixed percentage damage take disproportionately large chunks out of massive health pools.
- Ignore-Defense Attackers: Skills that bypass defense must be accounted for during the pick-and-ban phase, as sustained ignore-defense attacks bypass Volcaris's raw damage mitigation.
- Attack Bar Resets and Hard Control: If your draft lacks an immediate cleanse or immunity buffer, repeated pushbacks and cooldown resets can lock Volcaris out of the match entirely. Ban heavy crowd control units if you do not secure first-turn immunity.

This helped me understand strategy much better.
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
Nice guide. I am checking the other Summoners War articles next.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
