Draft Water Cosmic Worm (Malice) as a reactive counter-pick in Summoners War World Arena (RTA) to strip and steal positive effects from buff-reliant compositions. Malice directly punishes defensive opponents by removing their shields, immunity, and stat enhancements and granting those benefits to your side. To make this work, tune Malice to act immediately after the enemy's primary buffer while carrying 85% Accuracy to reliably bypass PvP resistance checks.

Malice requires a combination of turn-cycling speed, maximum effective accuracy, and bulk to survive incoming attacks before acting.

  • Despair / Will: The standard build. Malice's multi-target attacks can trigger area-of-effect stuns, combining buff removal with immediate crowd control.
  • Violent / Will: An alternative for extended battles where frequent skill cycling provides repeated disruption.
  • Swift / Focus: An entry-level option if your Despair or Violent sets lack the substats needed to reach the required Speed or Accuracy benchmarks.
  • Stat Priorities: Target 85% Accuracy, which represents the PvP cap against high-resistance monsters. Pair this with a high Speed offset (+130 to +160) and defensive stats (+25,000 HP and solid Defense) so Malice does not collapse under focused damage.

World Arena Drafting Strategy

Do not pick Malice early in a draft. Locking Malice as a first or second pick allows opponents to adjust by selecting passive units or hard control that bypasses buff mechanics entirely. Reserve Malice for the fourth or fifth pick slot once the opponent commits to multiple support units.

Ideal Targets

Draft Malice when the enemy locks in two or more monsters reliant on active buffing:

  • Immunity Casters: Woosa, Velajuel, and Amelia, whose defensive protection is redirected to your team.
  • Stat Buffers and Shield Openers: Bastet, Megan, and Adriana, allowing you to neutralize their offensive tempo and absorb their defensive shields.
  • Regeneration Tanks: Riley and Abellio, whose sustained healing buffs provide free continuous recovery to your lineup.

Matchups to Avoid

Avoid picking Malice into drafts that do not rely on active buffs:

  • Passive-Heavy Lineups: Monsters such as Leo, Douglas, and Verdehile generate value through passive skills rather than cast buffs, leaving Malice with nothing to strip or steal.
  • Cooldown Reset Units: Fast control monsters like Oliver or Sekhmet can reset Malice before the buff-steal skill is used.

Turn Order and Team Composition

Speed tune your team so Malice moves directly after the opposing buffer casts their skills, but ahead of your primary damage dealers. If Malice moves before the enemy, there are no buffs to take; if Malice moves too late, your team absorbs the full impact of an empowered enemy assault.

Pair Malice with follow-up control monsters such as Moore, Cheongpung (CP), or Sagar. Once Malice clears enemy Immunity, these allies can land attack bar reductions and cooldown resets without interference. Follow with single-target or area nukers to eliminate the unprotected enemy threats.
