To clear Stages 1 through 10 in Teenieping Magic Match, focus your moves on the target goals shown at the top of the screen, work from the bottom rows to trigger natural cascades, and craft special clearing pieces to eliminate obstacles before your turn counter runs out.

The first ten stages introduce the puzzle mechanics you need for the rest of the game, progressing from simple color-matching quotas to multi-hit obstacles and restricted move limits.

Early Stage Objectives and Progression

Every level displays a move counter alongside required objectives at the top of the board. Meeting these quotas before running out of turns clears the level; failing requires you to restart or spend resources.

StagesPrimary Objective TypeBoard ObstaclesPrimary Strategy
1–3Single or multi-color quotasOpen board, no hazardsForm 4-matches to learn rocket directions
4–6Color quotas and frosted tilesStatic frosted board squaresMatch gems directly on frosted spaces
7–8Item gathering and frosted squaresIrregular borders, blocked cornersMatch low to trigger falling cascades
9–10Dual goals with tight turn limitsMulti-hit reinforced obstaclesCombine special items for wide-area clears

In Stages 1 through 3, match only the designated colors (such as pink hearts, blue droplets, or yellow stars) unless an off-target match creates a special piece or sets up a cascade.

Creating and Combining Special Pieces

Matching four or five pieces of the same color creates enhanced clearing tiles. Using these pieces saves turns and breaks hard-to-reach board spaces.

Special Tile Formations

  • Line Clear Rocket: Formed by matching four pieces in a straight row or column. Swapping or matching this piece clears an entire line. Matching four horizontally creates a horizontal rocket; matching four vertically creates a vertical rocket.
  • Bomb Gem: Formed by matching five pieces in an L-shape or T-shape. Activating this bomb detonates a 3x3 square around itself.
  • Rainbow Magic Sphere: Formed by matching five pieces in a continuous straight line. Swapping this sphere with an adjacent standard gem removes every piece of that color from the board.

Combination Effects

Swapping two special pieces together triggers enhanced effects that clear large sections of the grid:

  1. Rocket + Rocket: Creates a cross-shaped blast that wipes out an entire row and column simultaneously.
  2. Rocket + Bomb: Creates a blast that clears three entire rows and three entire columns.
  3. Rainbow Magic Sphere + Rocket: Transforms every gem matching the rocket's color across the entire board into a rocket, then detonates them all in a chain reaction.

Clearing Frosted Tiles and Board Obstacles

Beginning in Stage 4, levels add frosted tiles underneath normal gems.

  • Standard Frost: Making a match on top of a frosted tile shatters the layer beneath it.
  • Reinforced Frost (Stage 8): Requires two separate matches on or adjacent to the tile to clear it completely.
  • Perimeter Tiles: Avoid spending individual moves matching standard gems on the extreme borders or corners. Instead, align Line Clear rockets or Bombs on adjacent inner rows to detonate those spaces from a distance.

Always prioritize clearing blockers on the lower half of the grid. Clearing lower gems causes the upper columns to collapse, frequently creating automatic matches that break obstacles without using extra turns.

Conserving Moves for Three-Star Ratings

Star ratings depend on your end-of-stage point total. Once you fulfill the final objective, the game enters a bonus sequence that converts every remaining turn into special clearing tiles that detonate automatically.

To maximize your score and secure three stars:

  • Scan the lower third of the grid before every turn to find matches that cause cascading falls.
  • Save paired special tiles for dual-objective levels like Stages 9 and 10 rather than activating individual rockets immediately.
  • Complete your final objective immediately when it becomes available. The bonus points awarded from surplus turn conversions exceed the points generated by making extra manual matches on the board.
