To clear Demonic Beast Surtr and the Primal Fire across Floors 1 through 3 without Heimdall in The Seven Deadly Sins, replace defensive stalling with a fast God team. Without Heimdall's taunt and damage mitigation, you cannot endure extended battles against cumulative ignite stacks. Your goal is to clear each phase within one to two turns using burst damage and stance cancellation before Surtr's offensive buffs overwhelm your party.

Team Composition and Setup

A God-attribute lineup provides both high damage output and utility mechanics to bypass Surtr's gimmicks. Your frontline must bring reliable stance cancellation to handle Floor 2 and sufficient burst damage to force rapid phase transitions across all three floors.

Gear and Substats

Because you lack a dedicated tank, incoming damage must be minimized by ending phases quickly.

  • Frontline Damage Dealers: Equip Attack/Critical Damage gear sets. Prioritize standard Attack substats to maximize burst thresholds.
  • Support Units: Equip HP/Defense sets with flat HP and Defense substat rolls. This raises total Combat Class to ensure your team moves first.

Floor 1: Bursting Phases and Ignite Control

Floor 1 serves as an offensive DPS check. Stacking ignite debuffs will rapidly deplete your frontline's maximum HP if fights drag out.

  1. Phase 1: Discard low-value bronze cards on Turn 1 to cycle into high-tier single-target attacks. If running Freyr, his presence neutralizes early burn accumulation. Push Surtr to zero health within two turns to prevent defensive posture triggers.
  2. Phase 2: Surtr increases his base damage and casts self-buffs upon entering this phase. Deploy your saved single-target burst cards immediately. Avoid stalling for Ultimate Moves unless your team has high health, as Surtr's area attacks deal unmitigated damage to your entire board.

Floor 2: Handling Stance Mechanics

Floor 2 introduces defensive stances that reflect damage or heavily reduce incoming hits. Misplaying into a counter stance can wipe your team in a single turn.

Stance Removal Priority

  • Lead with Stance Cancels: When Surtr enters a defensive stance, your first action of the turn must be a stance-canceling skill from Freyja or Freyr. Never use damage skills before the stance is broken.
  • Card Economy: Always keep at least one stance-cancel card in reserve if you cannot eliminate Surtr on the current turn.
  • Targeting: Direct all attacks at Surtr to push health thresholds rather than targeting summons.

Phase 2 Two-Turn Burst

Surtr gains escalating offensive stats every turn during Phase 2. Spend Turn 1 applying setup buffs and chipping his health close to his phase threshold. Commit all remaining high-rank attack cards and Ultimate Moves on Turn 2 to finish the floor before his damage scaling triggers.

Floor 3: Primal Fire and Final Phase Execution

Floor 3 combines heavy offensive scaling, high damage mitigation, and Primal Fire mechanics. You cannot afford prolonged multi-turn trades.

  1. Phase 1 and Phase 2: Use Ultimate Moves from Thor or LR Freyr to force phase changes within one or two turns. If any character drops below 40% HP, use attack skills with built-in lifesteal rather than defensive recovery cards to sustain offensive pressure.
  2. Phase 3 Damage Mitigation: Surtr begins the final phase with heavy damage-reduction barriers. Save rank-three attacks and full Ultimate Move gauges until his defensive mitigation drops. Once vulnerable, unleash all stored Ultimate Moves and high-damage cards in a single sequence to deplete his remaining health pool and secure the clear.
