To clear The Narrow Path challenge map in The Walking Dead No Man's Land, use Glenn as a high-mobility runner to bypass clustered walker choke points instead of clearing the horde. In high-difficulty versions of this map—such as difficulty 38 through 44—corridors become clogged with high-health, armored walkers and bodyguards that exhaust survivor health and action points. Bypassing these bottlenecks with Glenn lets your squad trigger objectives and reach the exit marker in a fraction of the turns required for a full clear.

Squad Roles for the Skip

The strategy relies on Glenn’s high movement range as a Scout to sprint ahead, while secondary survivors manipulate enemy pathing and remove immediate physical blockers.

Survivor RoleClass ArchetypePrimary FunctionPriority Targets
Lead Runner (Glenn)ScoutSprinting past bottlenecks and reaching extractionMap objectives, exit tiles
Crowd DisrupterWarrior or BruiserStunning bottleneck blockers to open lanesDoorway blockers, armored threats

Equip Glenn with armor that boosts charge generation or mitigates melee damage, along with a weapon featuring the swift or retaliate trait to recover quickly if a walker steps into his movement path. Disrupters require weapons with reliable stun or knockback effects to clear tiles without needing lethal damage.

Turn-by-Turn Skip Route

Executing the skip requires moving Glenn along exterior lines while keeping secondary survivors from alerting perimeter enemies with loud gunfire.

  1. Advance along the exterior (Turn 1): Move Glenn along the map's outer lane toward the first choke point. Do not fire unsilenced firearms with supporting squad members, as gunfire alerts perimeter walkers and pulls them into Glenn's intended path.
  2. Disable the corridor gatekeeper (Turn 2): Use your Warrior or Bruiser to stun the walker blocking the primary bottleneck. Glenn should not spend action points attacking this target; stunning it disables attacks of opportunity, leaving the tile safe to bypass.
  3. Sprint through the opening (Turn 3): Move Glenn through the newly created gap at maximum range. Stick close to interior walls to remain outside the engagement ranges of stationary clusters. If an enemy shifts into your path, use Glenn’s melee attack or charge ability to clear the single square needed to proceed.
  4. Interact and extract (Turns 4–5): Move Glenn onto the objective terminal or path trigger, then proceed directly to the extraction point. Keep supporting survivors in defensive positions at the rear so they do not drag trailing enemies into the extraction zone.

Managing Walker Agro

Walkers calculate movement using line-of-sight proximity and noise. Pushing your entire squad forward along the same tile sequence will funnel the horde into the center corridor, collapsing your escape lane.

To keep the corridor open, offset your secondary survivors:

  • Station the anchor behind the main advance: Position a survivor just within range of secondary walker groups to lock their tracking logic onto the rear of the map.
  • Split the horde's attention: Trailing walkers will redirect toward the rear anchor, creating a vacuum in the main lane for Glenn.
  • Hold non-essential movement: Once the lane is open, do not push secondary survivors forward unless necessary, as trailing walkers can box them into narrow walls.

Trade-Offs of the Skip Strategy

The Glenn skip pattern is designed to minimize risk and energy consumption during challenging event rotations, but it comes with specific compromises:

  • Lost Kill Rewards: You forfeit the experience points and standard resource drops tied to fully eliminating the map's walker population.
  • Precision Requirements: A single missed stun or an unsuppressed gunshot can collapse the open corridor, forcing your squad into an unfavorable fight in close quarters.
  • Reward Efficiency: Skipping the combat phase preserves health, avoids trauma recovery timers, and secures stage milestone rewards quickly on higher difficulties where prolonged combat is inefficient.
