In Tiles Survive!!, Reforge Hammers reset and randomize the secondary attributes of hero gear while keeping its primary base stats intact. Use these consumable items on high-tier gear equipped by your main combat heroes to replace irrelevant secondary stats with modifiers that support your hero's specific combat role.

How Gear Reforging Works

Hero equipment features two stat categories: fixed base attributes and variable secondary modifiers. Base stats remain constant for a given gear piece, but secondary stats—such as attack speed bonuses, damage mitigation, or troop-specific buffs—are assigned randomly when gear is acquired.

Reforge Hammers allow you to discard the current secondary stat rolls on a piece of gear and replace them with a new randomized set. Using a hammer does not destroy the gear or alter its base stats, making it a targeted method for upgrading existing equipment instead of relying on new drops.

Deciding When to Reforge Gear

Reforge Hammers are limited resources. Using them on temporary or low-tier equipment reduces your long-term account efficiency. Use the criteria below to decide whether a gear piece is worth reformatting:

Gear ConditionRecommended ActionDecision Reason
Low-tier or basic equipmentSave HammersLow base stats mean the item will be replaced quickly.
High-tier / SSR gear with poor base statsSave HammersWeak base rolls limit the total power potential of the piece.
High-tier / SSR gear with strong base statsReforge GearHigh base values justify investing finite hammers to clean up secondary rolls.

Reroll Strategy and Risk Management

Because secondary attributes are randomized upon rerolling, a Reforge Hammer is not guaranteed to give better stats than the ones replaced. To mitigate bad outcomes, follow this optimization order:

  1. Target gear with "dead" stats: Focus on items holding secondary attributes that provide zero functional benefit to the assigned hero, such as attack speed modifiers on a purely defensive hero.
  2. Prioritize primary combat marches: Allocate your hammers to gear used by your main team, specifically heroes deployed in competitive modes like Reservoir Raid and Alliance Duels.
  3. Conduct batch refinement sessions: Save your Reforge Hammers until you have several stored. Reviewing your hero roster as a whole helps you identify which specific gear pieces are holding back your main team before committing your supply.
