To prevent your castle from getting zeroed in War and Order, you must keep an active Peace Shield or immediately evacuate your troops when an overwhelming enemy rally targets your base. Raw battle power does not stop concentrated multi-rally attacks: on March 2, 2025, an unshielded 545 million power castle lost over 20 million troops within minutes to coordinated enemy hits.
When your castle is unshielded, surviving relies on maintaining Embassy reinforcements, tracking Hospital capacity, and using ghost rallies before incoming damage turns into permanent troop losses.
Peace Shield Discipline
A Peace Shield is the only guaranteed defense against enemy scouting and coordinated rallies. Most zeroing incidents occur when a shield expires unnoticed or when a player unintentionally drops their shield.
To maintain unbroken shield coverage:
- Stagger renewals early: Never wait until the final minutes of an 8-hour, 24-hour, or 3-day shield. Reapply a new shield before logging off or entering long offline periods.
- Avoid aggressive map actions: Sending a scout march, attacking another player, or reinforcing an allied combat zone immediately cancels your Peace Shield. Only perform aggressive actions if you have the resources and attention to re-shield right away.
- Set phone alarms: In-game notifications can be delayed by mobile power-saving settings. Set an external device timer for 30 minutes before your shield duration ends.
Embassy Reinforcements and Defense Limits
If you choose to defend a rally instead of shielding, your survivability depends on your alliance reinforcements rather than your base defense alone.
Attackers combine their strongest commanders, high-tier units, and offensive buffs into a single rally march. Defending against this pooled strength requires allied support through your Embassy:
- Upgrade the Embassy: Your Embassy level determines the maximum number of allied reinforcements your castle can hold. A low-capacity Embassy leaves your native troops exposed to the full force of the enemy rally.
- Request frontline infantry: Allied reinforcements should consist primarily of high-tier infantry. Frontline infantry absorbs damage from incoming cavalry and ranged units, keeping your own backline damage dealers alive.
- Recognize when to retreat: Reinforcement space has a strict limit. If the attacker's rally size and stats significantly outclass your combined garrison and Embassy capacity, holding your ground will result in severe troop losses for both you and your allies.
Evacuating Troops with Ghost Rallies
When you are unshielded, outnumbered, and unable to hold incoming rallies, evacuate your strike force immediately to prevent your army from being destroyed.
- Launch a ghost rally: Select an inactive castle or distant map target and start an 8-hour rally. Troops committed to a rally march are outside the castle and cannot be damaged by incoming attacks on your base.
- Dispatch gathering queues: Send remaining marching queues to reinforce protected alliance structures or gather at distant alliance super mines.
- Cancel when safe: Once the enemy rallies clear or you obtain a Peace Shield, cancel the ghost rally and recall your gathering queues.
Emptying the castle denies the attacking alliance kill event points and ensures your high-tier offensive units survive without sustaining hospital-filling casualties.
Tracking Hospital Capacity to Prevent Dead Troops
Troops are only permanently lost once your Hospital capacity is fully exhausted. Understanding the state of your Hospital determines whether you should continue defending or immediately relocate and shield.
| Defense Status | Hospital State | Casualty Outcome | Required Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Early Rally Hits | Beds available | Wounded troops are saved in the Hospital | Heal wounded units in batches; request high-tier infantry reinforcements. |
| Sustained Assault | Beds near limit | Nearing the threshold for permanent troop loss | Evacuate remaining units using ghost rallies or alliance mines immediately. |
| Saturated Defense | Beds full | 100% of subsequent casualties die permanently | Abandon defense immediately; apply a Peace Shield or use an emergency Random Teleport. |
Prioritize Hospital capacity research in your Academy and upgrade medical facilities to expand your safety margin. The moment your Hospital reaches maximum capacity, all defensive viability ends, and every subsequent hit permanently deletes your army.
