To clear Stage 10 of Traces of Olin in Whisperborne, replace single-target DPS skills with area-of-effect crowd control, shift your character to the map perimeter to funnel enemy spawns, and hold your high-damage clearing ability for severe swarms.

Equip AoE and Crowd-Control Abilities

Stage 10 features a massive surge in enemy density that renders single-target damage setups ineffective. When enemies swarm your position, single-target attacks cannot thin the crowd quickly enough to prevent you from being pinned.

Adjust your skill bar to emphasize area-of-effect (AoE) abilities, specifically those with knockback or stun properties:

  • Knockback Skills: Push incoming mobs back to create a physical buffer zone, giving you room to maneuver and reset your attack positioning.
  • Stun Skills: Temporarily disrupt enemy attacks to reduce incoming damage and buy time for cooldown recovery.
  • Persistent AoE Effects: Deal damage over time across a wider area to weaken entire waves simultaneously.

Position Along Map Edges

Standing in the center of the stage leaves you exposed to attacks from 360 degrees. To maintain control over the battle, relocate to the outer edges of the map.

Hugging the perimeter forces the enemy AI to approach from a 180-degree frontal arc rather than surrounding you entirely. This positioning accomplishes two immediate goals:

  1. Reduces Incoming Damage: Enemies cannot strike you from behind or from the side bounded by the wall.
  2. Improves Skill Hits: Funneled enemies line up predictably, maximizing the number of targets hit by linear or directional AoE attacks.

Avoid making large, frantic movements across the stage. Take small, controlled steps along the edge to keep incoming mobs bunched tightly together. A tightly grouped cluster takes far more damage from a single AoE cast than a scattered swarm.

Reserve Your Primary Clearing Skill

Spamming abilities the moment their cooldowns refresh leaves you defenseless during peak enemy waves. Keep a strict rotation and hold at least one key defensive or displacement skill in reserve.

Designate your strongest AoE or knockback ability as an emergency reset. Do not waste this skill on small groups of two or three targets. Wait until enemy density increases significantly, then trigger the skill to wipe out the cluster and clear space around your character.

Upgrade Gear and Base Stats if Swarms Overwhelm You

Execution and positioning minimize damage, but they cannot replace basic stat requirements. If you follow proper crowd-control timing and perimeter positioning but still die rapidly, your character has hit a hard stat bottleneck.

When high-density spawns continue to defeat your build despite optimal skill timing, halt your stage attempts and invest resources into raising your base stats and equipment levels before trying Stage 10 again.
