To dominate Sun City during the Whiteout Survival State vs. State (SvS) War Phase, your alliance must transition from passive defense to aggressive, coordinated territory control. Success requires synchronizing alliance rallies, securing the four surrounding Turrets to prevent crossfire damage, and strictly managing your hospital capacity to sustain a long-term defense. Winning the central objective requires moving away from solo attacks and relying entirely on synchronized alliance rallies led by your highest-stat players.

The SvS War Phase is the ultimate test of a kingdom's endurance, communication, and strategic positioning. This guide breaks down the tactical priorities, troop compositions, and map control strategies required to capture and hold Sun City against a rival state.

Understanding Sun City and Turret Mechanics

Before committing troops to the battlefield, you must understand how the central objectives interact in Whiteout Survival. The battlefield consists of the central Sun City and four surrounding Turrets.

You cannot simply occupy Sun City and expect to hold it if the enemy controls the Turrets. If an enemy alliance captures a Turret, that structure will periodically fire devastating attacks into the Sun City garrison, dealing massive damage and causing severe troop casualties.

To achieve total dominance, your alliance must aim to control Sun City and as many Turrets as possible. If you lack the manpower to hold all five structures, your secondary goal is to continuously rally and disrupt any Turrets held by the enemy, forcing them to reset their garrisons and preventing them from locking on to your Sun City defenders.

Pre-War Preparation Checklist

Success in the SvS War Phase is largely determined before the combat timer even begins. Invading or defending, your alliance must prepare its accounts to absorb heavy hits and deal maximum damage.

  • Clear the Infirmary: Ensure your hospital is completely empty before the event starts. Entering the War Phase with wounded troops guarantees you will overflow your capacity, leading to permanent troop deaths.
  • Activate 24-Hour Buffs: Navigate to your Chief Profile and activate your 24-hour Attack, Defense, and Health buffs. Every percentage point matters when millions of troops are clashing.
  • Equip the Right Chief Gear and Charms: Ensure your best combat gear is equipped. Do not leave growth or gathering gear active.
  • Activate Pet Skills: If you have combat-oriented pets (like the Snow Leopard or Titan Boa), ensure their active skills are ready to be deployed right before your alliance’s primary rally hits.
  • Stockpile Advanced Teleports: You will need multiple teleports to secure optimal positioning in the grey zone (the mud) around Sun City and to retreat if your city comes under heavy solo attack.

Offensive Strategies: Capturing Sun City

When Sun City is held by the enemy state, individual strength is useless. A fully garrisoned Sun City can hold millions of troops. Overwhelming it requires precision rally coordination.

Selecting the Rally Leader

The rally leader dictates the stats of the entire attacking force. Your alliance must designate your "whales"—players with the highest level Chief Gear, Charms, Hero Gear, and Research—to lead all strikes on Sun City and the Turrets. A rally is only as strong as its leader's stats. If a mid-level player initiates a rally, the enemy garrison will easily absorb the hit, resulting in massive losses for your alliance.

Hero Synergy for Rally Joiners

In Whiteout Survival, the heroes sent by the players joining the rally are incredibly important. The game applies the first expedition skill of the captain hero sent by each joiner. To maximize damage, joiners should send heroes that provide global attack or damage buffs to the rally:

  • Jessie: Her expedition skill increases rally damage dealt.
  • Jasser: His expedition skill increases rally damage dealt.
  • Seo-yoon: Her expedition skill increases rally damage dealt.

Never send gathering heroes or defensive heroes when joining an offensive rally. Every joiner should have Jessie, Jasser, or Seo-yoon as the captain of their marching squad.

Synchronizing Rally Impacts

A single rally is rarely enough to break a reinforced Sun City. Your alliance should coordinate "double" or "triple" rallies. Two or three top-tier rally leaders initiate rallies on the objective simultaneously. Using alliance chat or voice comms, the leaders use march speedups to ensure all rallies hit the target within one or two seconds of each other. This overwhelms the enemy's ability to heal and reinforce, shattering their garrison.

Defensive Strategies: Holding the Objective

Once your alliance captures Sun City, your priority immediately shifts to defensive rotation and endurance. Taking the city is only half the battle; holding it for the required duration wins the event.

Setting the Garrison Captain

Just like the rally leader, the Garrison Captain dictates the defensive stats of the city. The strongest player in your alliance must be the Garrison Captain. If a weaker player accidentally captures the city first, the strongest player should immediately reinforce it, and leadership should be passed to them.

Managing the Infantry Bleed

In Whiteout Survival combat, Infantry troops are positioned in the front line. They absorb the vast majority of the damage. When an enemy rally hits Sun City, your garrison will lose a massive amount of Infantry. If the garrison runs out of Infantry, the Lancers and Marksmen in the backline will be slaughtered instantly.

To prevent this, alliance members must continuously monitor the garrison composition. When Infantry numbers drop, players must recall their surviving Lancers and Marksmen and send fresh marches heavily weighted toward Infantry (e.g., a 60% Infantry, 20% Lancer, 20% Marksman formation).

Active Garrison Management and Kicking

The Garrison Captain has a crucial, active job: kicking weak or inappropriate marches. To keep the garrison strong, the captain must manually remove:

  • Players who sent the wrong heroes (e.g., gathering heroes).
  • Lower-tier troops (T8 or T9 troops when T10 and T11 troops are available from other players).
  • Marches that have been severely depleted of Infantry.

By kicking these marches, the captain makes room in the garrison cap for fresh, high-tier reinforcements from active players.

Defensive Hero Synergy

When reinforcing a held Sun City, rally joiners should switch their captains from offensive heroes to defensive and health-boosting heroes.

  • Patrick: Increases rally health, making the garrison incredibly tanky.
  • Sergey: Reduces damage taken by the rally.

Having 10 to 15 players join the garrison with Patrick as their captain provides a massive survivability boost against incoming enemy rallies.

Managing Troop Losses and the Hospital

Combat in the SvS War Phase is resource-intensive and heavily penalizes poor hospital management. However, the SvS event features unique casualty mechanics designed to encourage PvP combat.

The Infirmary and Enlistment Office

During the War Phase, severely wounded troops go to your Infirmary. Once your Infirmary is full, any further casualties are considered "dead." However, because this is an SvS event, these dead troops are sent to the State Enlistment Office.

After the War Phase concludes, you will be able to recover the vast majority (typically 90% or more) of the troops lost to the Enlistment Office using Revival Herbs earned through event participation. Because of this safety net, you should not be afraid to fight.

Batch Healing Strategy

Despite the Enlistment Office, you still want to keep troops in the fight as long as possible. The most common error players make is letting their Infirmary fill up and staying offline.

To maximize your combat uptime, heal your troops in small batches. Instead of healing 50,000 troops at once (which takes hours), heal 2,000 to 3,000 troops at a time. This allows your alliance members to instantly complete the healing timer by pressing the "Alliance Help" button. You can rapidly empty your Infirmary without spending a single speedup or diamond, keeping your account ready to reinforce Sun City.

Strategic Positioning and Controlling the Mud

Controlling the flow of traffic around Sun City is vital. The area immediately surrounding the central objectives is often referred to as the "mud" or the grey zone.

Establishing a Hive Formation

Your alliance should aim to occupy the territory directly adjacent to Sun City and the Turrets. By teleporting into this zone, you create a physical buffer.

  • Inner Ring: Your strongest rally leaders and Garrison Captains should be as close to Sun City as possible to minimize their march times.
  • Outer Ring: Highly active reinforcers should fill the tiles behind the leaders.

By taking up this space, you force the enemy state to teleport further away. This increases their march times, giving your alliance more time to react to incoming rallies, speed up reinforcements, or intercept enemy scouts. If you find yourself overwhelmed and out of resources, do not retreat randomly. Regroup on the outskirts of the grey zone and wait for your alliance leaders to call for the next coordinated strike.

Common Mistakes to Avoid in the War Phase

Even strong alliances lose Sun City by making avoidable tactical errors. Avoid these common pitfalls to maintain your dominance:

  1. Solo Attacking Objectives: Never launch a solo attack against Sun City or a Turret. You will simply feed kills to the enemy garrison and fill your hospital for absolutely no strategic gain. Only attack via coordinated rallies.
  2. Ignoring the Turrets: Focusing entirely on Sun City while letting the enemy hold the Turrets is a death sentence. The Turret crossfire will bleed your garrison dry faster than you can heal.
  3. Going Offline in the Garrison: If you send troops to reinforce Sun City and then log off the game, you become a liability. Your troops will eventually take damage, your Infantry will die, and you will be occupying valuable garrison space with wounded backline troops that you cannot recall and refresh.
  4. Wasting Stamina on Minor Skirmishes: During the heat of battle, it is easy to get distracted by enemy players attacking your city or fighting in the outer zones. Keep the objective at the center of your decision-making. Save your stamina and speedups for Sun City and the Turrets. Minor skirmishes do not win the SvS War Phase.
