When you’re new to Wuthering Waves, watch enemy attacks and practice dodging before focusing on damage. The first-time combat advice here is to learn enemy wind-ups, then try a timed counter when you recognize an opening.

Practice dodges and parries

  1. Watch an enemy’s wind-up to learn when an attack is about to land.
  2. Dodge as the attack connects to practice the timing.
  3. When an enemy prepares a strike, try a basic attack or skill at the right moment to interrupt it.
  4. If your timing is off, return to watching the attack animation rather than repeatedly attacking.

Parries and dodges are separate responses, so practice them as opportunities arise. The draft describes parries as a way to interrupt an enemy strike, but it doesn’t establish that every attack can be parried.
