To defeat Galandra in Absolum, transition from risky grounded trades to a jump-attack rotation. Staying airborne keeps your hero above her widest ground combos, while punishing her stationary recovery window after heavy slam attacks ensures steady damage output.

Airborne Strategy and Arena Positioning

Galandra relies heavily on rapid ground slashes and wide melee sweeps. Staying airborne forces her to track your elevation, preventing her from starting multi-hit ground strings.

  • Initiating Jump Attacks: Time your jumps to land strikes as Galandra completes her attack telegraphs. Stay slightly above her hitbox to clear her sweeping melee arcs.
  • Closing Gaps: If she moves out of melee range, use a dash to close distance instantly and transition directly into an airborne strike.
  • Arena Control: Keep the fight near the center of the room. If Galandra traps you near a wall, her knockback strikes become far more dangerous. Use a directional dash to pivot behind her, reset your angle, and kite her back toward open space.

Exploiting Heavy Slam Recovery Windows

Galandra’s move set falls into two distinct risk categories: fast light attacks and heavy slams.

  1. Light Slashes: Dodge around the outer edge of the arena during her standard slash combos. Avoid attacking during her neutral or light attack states.
  2. Heavy Slams: Watch for her heavy slam attack, where her weapon strikes the ground and she pauses in a stationary recovery animation.
  3. Punish Window: Once the heavy slam lands, immediately close distance and execute your character's highest-damage abilities while she is immobilized.

Managing Stamina and Execution Loops

Depleting your stamina bar leaves your character unable to escape Galandra's rapid follow-up attacks. Always maintain at least 25% of your stamina bar—enough for one emergency dash retreat.

Follow this sequence for every offensive engagement:

  1. Execute two to three jump strikes to deal damage while airborne.
  2. Check your stamina bar to verify at least 25% capacity remains.
  3. Dash away immediately if Galandra shifts posture or her weapon begins to glow.
  4. Maintain distance until she executes another heavy slam, then repeat the loop.
