To use the Casing Launcher effectively in Absolum, fire sustained bursts with high-caliber ranged weapons to pool spent shell casings on the battlefield floor, then activate the launcher while facing your targets to sweep the debris forward into advancing enemies.
How the Casing Launcher Operates
The Casing Launcher acts as a secondary utility mechanic that recycles spent ammunition dropped during ranged combat into secondary offensive projectiles.
- Two-Stage Attacks: Firing weapons creates an initial bullet impact while leaving physical casings on the ground. Activating the launcher sweeps those accumulated casings forward as secondary strikes.
- Directional Arc: Launched casings travel in a fixed arc based on the direction your character is currently facing, rather than automatically tracking nearby hostiles.
- Area Damage: In narrow corridors or chokepoints, launching a dense pile of shells produces a wide, shotgun-style scatter pattern that hits multiple enemies simultaneously.
Positioning and Activation Timing
Because the activation animation briefly locks your character in place, proper spacing and positioning are critical to avoid taking unnecessary damage while operating the launcher.
- Build a Casing Cluster: Fire sustained volleys into a group of enemies or across a chokepoint before attempting to trigger the launcher. Using the ability after only a single shot wastes the setup window.
- Kite and Line Up Targets: Retain distance by retreating from advancing hostiles. This leaves a natural trail of spent casings on the ground. Once enemies enter the area you just occupied, turn around so the casing pile sits directly between you and the incoming horde.
- Execute and Dash-Cancel: Activate the launcher to hurl the casing trail back into the target group. Where possible, dash immediately after the projectiles launch to cancel the remaining end animation and regain your mobility.
Tactical Combat Applications
While the individual damage of a single launched shell is relatively low, sweeping multiple casings into a crowd serves key tactical functions during intense encounters:
- Interrupting Attack Wind-Ups: The cumulative impact of multiple casings striking an enemy creates a flinch effect. Use this stagger window to interrupt elite enemy attack animations before they land heavy blows.
- Downtime and Cooldown Filler: Triggering the launcher during active weapon reloads or primary ability cooldowns keeps damage active on the field without burning extra primary resources.

Nice guide. I am checking the other Absolum articles next.
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
This helped me understand strategy much better.
