AFK Arena: How to Ascend Scarlet to 5 Stars

To ascend Scarlet from base Elite to 5 stars in AFK Arena, open the Temple of Ascension in Ranhorn with 18 total Elite copies of Scarlet and four Lightbearer faction fodder heroes.

Ascension divides into two phases: taking Scarlet from Elite to base Ascended, and then adding five star ranks. Reaching Ascended unlocks her Oak Inn Furniture slots, while achieving 1 star unlocks the Eternal Engraving system.

Total Material Requirements

Reaching 5-star status requires specific hero duplicates and generic Lightbearer fodder:

Scarlet duplicates: 18 Elite copies (equivalent to 9 Elite+ copies).
Lightbearer fodder: 2 Elite+ fodder heroes and 2 Legendary+ fodder heroes.

Only use rare-tier heroes summoned from blue cards (such as Angelo, Morvus, Hogan, or Mirael) as fodder. Never sacrifice ascended-tier Lightbearers such as Rowan, Rosaline, or Estrilda.

Follow this sequence in the Temple of Ascension to reach base Ascended:

Promote to Elite+: Select your base Elite Scarlet and fuse one duplicate Elite Scarlet into her.
Promote to Legendary: Place your Elite+ Scarlet into the primary slot and consume two Elite+ Lightbearer fodder heroes.
Promote to Legendary+: Fuse one duplicate Elite+ Scarlet into your Legendary Scarlet.
Promote to Mythic: Feed one Legendary+ Lightbearer fodder hero to your Legendary+ Scarlet. This rank unlocks Scarlet's Signature Item.
Promote to Mythic+: Feed a second Legendary+ Lightbearer fodder hero into your Mythic Scarlet.
Promote to Ascended: Insert two separate Elite+ copies of Scarlet into your Mythic+ Scarlet. Reaching Ascended unlocks her Furniture abilities in the Oak Inn and raises your overall account level cap on the Resonating Crystal.

Adding 1 to 5 Stars

Once Scarlet reaches Ascended, the Temple of Ascension no longer accepts faction fodder. Every star upgrade requires duplicate Elite+ copies of Scarlet:

1 Star: Insert 1x Elite+ Scarlet. This unlocks the Eternal Engraving system for Engraving 30 (E30) and Engraving 60 (E60).
2 Stars: Insert 1x Elite+ Scarlet.
3 Stars: Insert 1x Elite+ Scarlet.
4 Stars: Insert 1x Elite+ Scarlet.
5 Stars: Insert 1x Elite+ Scarlet.

Each star provides approximately a 2.5% increase to Attack, Defense, and HP. Reaching 5 stars allows players targeting competitive Cursed Realm and Twisted Realm brackets to push Engravings up to E80.

Fodder Management and Summoning Priority

To avoid progression bottlenecks in the Lightbearer faction, apply these inventory rules:

Do not spread fodder across multiple heroes: Avoid promoting multiple Lightbearer heroes to Legendary if you lack the duplicate copies to take them directly to Legendary+. Keep heroes at Elite+ until you have all the required copies and fodder ready to push directly to Mythic or Ascended.
Prioritize roster breadth before 5-star hunting: Reaching 1 star on Scarlet is a priority to activate Engravings. However, before spending Hero Choice Summons in the Noble Tavern to take Scarlet from 1 star to 5 stars, ensure your account has built core support heroes such as Palmer or Jerome to Ascended.
