In Aniimo, reaching your creature holding limit prevents you from finalizing captures, which blocks you from acquiring new wild creatures—including rare or "Sparkling" variants. To maintain space for fresh captures, track your storage via the top-right menu indicator, expand holding limits through base upgrades, and clear duplicate units using the Transfer Menu or consolidation mechanics.

Inventory Systems and Roster Limits

Aniimo separates your collected units into two distinct inventory systems:

• Active Roster: The specific number of creatures you carry into the field for exploration and combat.
• Reserve Storage: The permanent storage area that holds the rest of your collection.

A capacity indicator bar located in the top-right corner of the menu screen displays your current storage status. When Reserve Storage reaches maximum capacity, capture attempts fail. If your storage fills up while exploring, return to your base or a safe zone to manage your inventory rather than releasing creatures in the wild.

Before heading into deep biomes or long-range expeditions, keep at least three open slots in your Active Roster. This buffers your inventory for unexpected wild encounters and multi-creature capture opportunities.

Expanding Capacity via Base Upgrades

Permanent storage expansion is handled through the Base Management terminal:

1. Upgrade the Habitat Hub: Upgrading this facility directly increases your maximum Reserve Storage cap. These upgrades require specific raw materials gathered from resource nodes during exploration.
2. Install Expansion Modules: Installing an Expansion Module increases your holding headcount without requiring high-level base structure upgrades.

If your storage fills up quickly, focus on harvesting raw node materials to meet the requirements for your next Habitat Hub level or module installation before discarding useful specimens.

Managing Storage via the Transfer Menu and Merging

When storage space runs low, use the Transfer Menu and evolution features to free up slots without wasting captured creatures:

• Transfer Menu: Use this menu to organize reserve creatures by rarity and elemental type. You can assign creatures to permanent holding or exchange them for upgrade currency. Sorting by type prevents accidentally discarding specimens needed for elemental team synergies or evolution chains.
• Sacrifice for Growth: This consolidation mechanic lets you merge lower-rarity creatures into a single higher-tier unit. Combining duplicates reclaims open storage slots while raising your active combat power.
• Duplicate Thresholds: Avoid hoarding identical specimens unless you are farming for specific personality types or passive traits. Holding more than three duplicates of a single species indicates it is time to evolve them or exchange them for upgrade materials.
