In Aniimo Version 1.1, you can freely switch any creature's visual appearance between its standard look and any shiny color palette you have previously obtained for that species. Swapping palettes operates like a cosmetic skin system: it costs no currency, has no cooldown, and leaves your creature's stats, level, and equipment intact.
How Unlocking Shiny Palettes Works
Shiny color options are bound to your account compendium rather than tied permanently to an individual captured unit. Once an alternate color is registered, any specimen of that species can equip it.
- Account Registration: Catching, hatching, or otherwise obtaining a shiny variant registers that color scheme in your index.
- Species Restrictions: Unlocks are species-specific. Unlocking a shiny color for one family does not grant that palette to unrelated creatures.
- Evolution Continuity: Registering a shiny variant unlocks the corresponding shiny palette for its evolved forms once the creature evolves.
- Event Variants: Limited-time promotional or event-exclusive shiny tints must be acquired during their active availability to permanently register.
- Permanent Retention: Releasing or trading away the original shiny specimen does not remove the registered color from your compendium.
How to Change a Creature's Palette
To equip an unlocked shiny appearance onto your chosen creature, navigate to the creature management menu:
| Step | Action | Menu Path |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Open Roster | Main Menu > Aniimo Bag / Creature Management |
| 2 | Choose Creature | Select the trained specimen you want to customize |
| 3 | Open Palette Menu | Select the Appearance / Palette icon on the details pane |
| 4 | Select Color | Pick from the unlocked swatches shown under the model |
| 5 | Confirm | Apply the selection to update overworld and combat models |
You can switch back to the creature's original default coloration at any time by repeating this process and choosing the base swatch.
Preserved Stats and Progression
Applying a shiny palette alters only the 3D model's visual texture. It does not recalculate data or consume resources like Leyline Essence or Lunar Coins. The following attributes remain unchanged when swapping colors:
- Individual Values (IVs): Attack, Defense, Speed, and Vitality potentials stay fixed to the base creature.
- Training and Levels: Current experience level, talent nodes, and unlocked skill tiers do not reset.
- Equipped Items: Relics, accessory items, and bound Shining Seals remain attached without unbinding fees.
- Bonding: Morale bonuses and creature affinity levels remain identical.
This decoupling allows you to capture a wild shiny with poor combat stats, register its appearance, and apply that look directly onto an optimized, battle-ready specimen.
Managing Storage After Version 1.1
Because cosmetic unlocks are permanent, holding low-stat duplicate shinies in your storage boxes is no longer necessary.
- Catch New Shiny Variants: Prioritize catching any wild shiny variant you do not currently own, regardless of its level or combat viability, to secure the registration.
- Check Combat Stats: Compare the new catch's IVs and attributes against your existing team member. If the new catch has superior stats, train it as your primary battler.
- Release Redundant Units: If the newly registered shiny has poor stats and your team already has a trained unit of that species, safely dismantle, trade, or release the duplicate to save box space.

Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
Nice guide. I am checking the other Aniimo articles next.
This helped me understand strategy much better.
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
