Online play is not mandatory in Aniimo. If you want to avoid player invasions and external disruptions entirely, you can play 100% solo by choosing the dedicated Solo mode before loading your session or by reloading your save from the main menu. Switching between online and offline modes does not reset your progress; your character profile, creature inventory, and base assets remain intact across both server states.

Online vs. Solo Mode Differences

Aniimo separates your play session into two main environment choices. Selecting the correct mode depends on whether you want cooperative and competitive world features or complete isolation for farming and story progression.

In Online mode, persistent social elements allow other players to share the open world with you. This enables real-time multiplayer interactions, but it also opens your world to invasions. Enemy players can attack or interrupt you while you are gathering resources, building, or taming creatures.

In Solo mode, external connection variables are removed. No other players can enter your world instance, ensuring that your exploration, creature taming, and resource gathering happen without outside interference.

How to Switch Server Modes Without Losing Progress

Because your inventory, base assets, and overall character save are stored on your character profile, you can switch connection states whenever your goals change.

  1. Check session settings before loading: Select your world instance from the main menu and open the session settings menu to confirm whether it is set to public online or private solo.
  2. Switching mid-game: If an online session becomes too disruptive, exit to the main menu.
  3. Reload in Solo mode: Select your save file and launch it in Solo mode to resume your progress immediately in a private instance.

When to Use Each Mode

  • Use Solo mode when: You are focusing on narrative quests, farming rare materials, building your base, or leveling weak creatures. Isolating your instance prevents unexpected combat losses while your team is unprepared.
  • Use Online mode when: You are prepared for defensive combat, looking to trade items with other players, or joining cooperative events and group challenges.
